Inspirational Bible Quote

You think the devil looks horrific and scary?
If he did, how could he deceive so many?

2 Corinthians 11:13-14, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.”

Judging?

Galatians 6:1-3, “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.”

But What About Justness?

Several weeks ago, I wrote an article entitled “Christians: WAKE UP!!”. It was a pretty direct and pretty firm expose on the present-day “brick and mortar” church condition, most notably in the United States. I followed it with “But What About Hope?” and then “But What About Grace?” both articles that were exploring the attributes and foundations of our walk with the Lord as it relates to our spiritual journey. I thought it only appropriate to follow-up with an article on God’s Justness. Now you might be asking, why did/do I call it Justness and not Justice?

I did feel conflicted, for just a minute, mainly because the word justness is not in the least bit common, whereas, justice is well-known. BUT, God, our Heavenly Father IS a Just God and the best description is the noun Justness. Just like Grace and Hope are nouns describing an aspect of His Character, so is Just-ness!

Here, for some contextual reference is a simple definition:
justness
noun
The quality or state of being just and unbiased:

detachment, disinterest, disinterestedness, dispassion, dispassionateness, equitableness, fair-mindedness, fairness, impartiality, impartialness, justice, nonpartisanship, objectiveness, objectivity.

God IS love. Those who “believe” in God know this to be true; some may question; but if you are a Christian, you don’t just believe, you KNOW this to be undeniable. I don’t mean the world’s idea of love, or even the theological “mumble jumble” that passes for what some THINK love is. Yes, I know, I have taught on this subject many times, besides, this was supposed to be about a Just God, right?

First, let’s lay a foundation for which to build upon God’s Just Character. What is the Character of real love? We know the results of love given; we know it is more than just a feeling as some believe, for there is a real cause and effect to true love given, but what, if any, are its attributes; what makes up real love and especially Godly, Agape Love?

Now, let me ask another question; have you ever considered or thought about what justness, or true Godly justness is? Justice perhaps such as your mind conjures up concerning crime and punishment maybe? It’s usually the first thought that comes to mind. Sounds like a famous piece of classic literature, but still not what can be described as Godly Justness.

Our Heavenly Father’s justness or His JUST character is said to be neither swayed by passion or the change of His “mood or behavior.” It is unwavering and true, regardless of circumstances going on in the natural or spiritual realms. Deuteronomy 32:3-4, “For I proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.” Also as an attribute, an absolute aspect of His nature, His justness is shown in the pursuit of what is right and reasonable and not disposed or inclined to seeking revenge for wrongs done. In other words, as the Scripture’s state in James 1:16-17, “Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” (Bold emphasis, mine).

So many of the Characteristics, Attributes and the very Nature of God are intertwined, but we need to remember that we ourselves are an image, be it an imperfect image, because of our carnality, but an image none-the-less of God, our Heavenly Father, Himself. Many of the attributes and character traits we have are a direct “seeding” from God Himself. We have the capacity to attain greater attributes than what our characters display, but only because sinfulness has held us back from who we are truly meant to be. Thankfully, because of the Atonement of Christ Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we have the ability to push towards that higher calling and become more and more like Christ Himself and, justness in our character, is one of those attributes. The problem with our carnality is that by ourselves we often allow our passions, mood and our temperament to sway us. But the same love that makes God Who He is, resides within us, and if we can “practice” that kind of loving, the very essences that make up Godly Love can be expressed in our relationships with one another and those around us.

There would be and is no Godly Love without Godly Justness or Justice, for as Love is an action relating to others, so Justice is a part (or essence) of that very Love that is also an action in our relationships with one another and especially as God’s Justness applies and relates to us as His children.

Because God’s Justness has no partiality and He doesn’t let mood or behavior determine what is right and just, His Justice towards us is a part of His Love in action. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross wasn’t just for the atonement of some men, but for ALL mankind, and sometimes we as Christians tend to forget that. Isaiah 45:21b-22, “Who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time? Have not I, the LORD? And there is no other God besides Me, A just God and a Savior; There is none besides Me. Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.”

Therefore, as our Heavenly Father loves ALL and shows no partiality in that love, so it is in the dispensing of His Justice! Whether we receive God’s Justice through His Love though, is a choice that He still allows us to make individually. We will ALL be judged, not just some, but with what ESSENCE of His Character that judgement is applied is and always will be an individual choice.

Now we can’t speak of justness OR justice, without also taking into consideration the penalties for those situations or actions that are unjust. Justice, true impartial justice cannot be justice without some sort of reparations to atone for the “injustices” that we do with our actions. We need to understand that injustice in the eyes of God IS sin and it is abhorrent beyond what we can comprehend, so we NEED to realize that to God, there is no excuse from sin. This is where God’s love can be seen in its full capacity.

We must realize, though most everybody is familiar with the Ten Commandments, that God gave the children of Israel through Moses, those ten commandments as more or less the “headings” for many, many more laws that God gave them. Thankfully, Jesus Himself, condensed them all so that anyone and everyone can understand them; Love God, Love your neighbor and under these are ALL the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40).

First, I must preface this discussion on penalties in conjunction with justice with this thought that you may or may not have heard me speak/write of many times before; we all to some degree or another place God, or our concept of God into a box. A box being the concept of God or His Character and/or nature with which we can feel comfortable in considering. Some boxes are big, just as big as our understanding or conception can be, while other boxes may be a bit smaller, depending upon the size of our faith and imagination. Whatever size, they are boxes none-the-less, little compartments in which we can justify our understanding of Who He is.

This in part is based upon our spiritual maturity, which in no way makes one individual less or greater than another, it only reflects our relationship, our faith at one point or another and our understanding; and realize this, spiritual maturity has absolutely nothing to do with physical age. I have personally seen and had a relationship with young people who had not long given their lives over to the Lord who had more understanding of God than I did at a more mature physical age! This is why we can ALWAYS learn from others no matter a person’s natural age.

What I want to share with you may ask you to “increase” the size of that box, (if not to take Him out altogether) so I ask you to take what I am about to share with spiritual openness, prayer AND meditation and reflection. So with that in mind, I first want to offer you what the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:33-39, “Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Bold emphasis mine).

Now before I am accused of taking this Scripture out of context, the point I am making is not only for those who chose NOT to accept Christ’s gift of redemption, but also for those that have. You see, what I have emphasized in bold is the spiritual PRINCIPLE that the Apostle is writing about. It is the impartial principle to not only those who claim to be disciples of Christ, but the principle is to ALL men, without partiality.

In simplest terms, this Living Word is telling us that it IS God Who justifies AND His love is forever to ALL, no exceptions. The thing we must, must, must not fail to understand or to confuse, is God’s forever, unconditional love goes unbreakably with His “Just-ness.” You can’t have Agape Love (Godly, unconditional) without God’s Justness also applied to everyone equally. If our Heavenly Father demonstrated partiality, then it wouldn’t be Agape Love AND He wouldn’t BE the Character of LOVE Himself.

The other thing is this, and it is a great part of His love for all; if He chose NOT to let mankind have the freedom to choose their destiny, if He chose to ignore those who reject Him and decide not to give them the same justice He applies to all, then He in essence would be negating man’s ability to choose. This can start getting into the realm of what some theologians term, “predestination” and I don’t want to confuse anyone, just suffice it to say that God NEVER takes away a person’s chance to choose their path or their eternity for themselves!

You see, when man chooses to disregard the gift that He so graciously offers, they are saying, in essence, I will trust in myself, I don’t need a relationship with You (God) as my Heavenly Father and, I refuse communion with You! Do NOT confuse God’s desire for communion, with man’s choice to not have it. Remember back in the Garden when God went looking for Adam (He knew where He was already), He was demonstrating to Adam and to us through the written Word that His willingness to commune hadn’t changed one bit, but it was Adam who chose to hide, due to his shame, yet none-the-less, he still chose to not commune with God as had been normal up to that point. Can you imagine for just a moment how things might have been, if despite Adam’s disobedience, he didn’t choose to hide from his Father, but rather greeted God the next day as usual but with a repentant heart and not trying to run from his sin. Yes, this was all part of God’s overall plan, (predestined you could say, in this regard by God) based upon man’s ability to exercise the freedom to choose, and thus bring about His Son’s sacrifice so that man could retain the ability to choose his own way, or God’s way!

The point is that our Heavenly Father had to demonstrate justness with Adam and Eve, or HIS Word and Character would be a lie, and as we know from Scripture, there is no shadow or falsehood in or with God, as the Apostle James has written! (James 1:17). Despite our Heavenly Father’s sadness, His willingness to continue to commune with Adam hadn’t changed, for His LOVING hadn’t changed towards Adam. The only thing that changed was the WAY He had to implement His justice towards Adam and Eve! He therefore cast Adam and Eve out of this perfect Garden, but He still didn’t stop loving them and didn’t stop wanting to have a relationship with them which included communion!

So it is with mankind today; God is still demonstrating His willingness to commune with His creation, and He is still actively demonstrating His love for each and every one of us! But — because He does love us more than we can comprehend, he also honors our decisions and our ability to choose, whether it is to choose Him and His Way, or ourselves and the path of self-centeredness.

So, what does this mean for those who reject Him? First, I won’t get into a debate about Hell or the “Lake of Fire” or such. I will however add this; if you choose to reject God, He will honor your wish and allow you into a place where there is neither light, nor the presence of His love, even the minutest amount and I firmly believe THAT is why there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth as the Scriptures foretell. Even in the worst places on this earth, there is still a glimpse of light and a glimmer of God’s Love because He allows His presence to be everywhere EXCEPT in the presence of sin! So, there ARE consequences to our unjust ways and the choices we make, and the Bible is full of those examples. The thing we need to remember is, that the consequences are a matter of our own choosing and God Almighty will continue to honor those choices. He WILL continue to love you despite your rejection of His Love and His willingness to commune with mankind.

Here’s the thing and here’s where I need you to “stretch” your faith a bit; if man does not want to commune with God Almighty as Father, God will honor that and those who make that choice WILL be separated from His presence, (He will be forever aware of them, but THEY will not be aware of or sense Him), and those that have accepted His plan of redemption and atonement for mankind WILL forever be IN His presence, in the presence of LOVE Eternal. God, though, NEVER stops loving those that have made their choice, BUT, being a just AND loving God, He must honor their wishes, and even though God continues to love them (actively honoring their wishes for all eternity), those that have made a choice to deny God and His love, will never sense, feel, or experience God’s love and they will be separated because of their choices from wherever God’s love could be sensed. That is justice AND love in action!!

Wait a second you might exclaim! That’s not a loving God, that’s a vengeful God! No, that’s a God who is impartially just and loving in action. That is the power of what we call freedom of choice; we are still to the very point of separation, truly masters of our own destiny! That is why it should cut us to the core of our spirit if any, of their own free will, reject such an awesome and gracious gift. He, as God, will ALWAYS love, no matter the circumstance, but we as free souls may not always sense that Love OR His Light, if we choose to reject His plan for our destiny. God’s justness demands we have the right to choose! God’s love sees that justice is applied!

Now whether you call that Hell or the Abyss or utter darkness, I truly believe it will be worse on the person who rejects God’s love than anything we can even comprehend and the fact of the matter is, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9. God Almighty does all He can to make sure every person born has an opportunity to freely make that choice and this is why so many have a hard time reconciling a God of Love with a God of Justice. The two traits go hand in hand, and you cannot have one without the other!

As the Apostle stated in Romans 8:34 as quoted above, God’s Justness is found in the Christ who is ever interceding on behalf of those who have accepted His gracious gift, for we all still fall and stumble at times, but Jesus Christ IS our JUST Advocate, our Intercessor, our Helper before our Heavenly Father for the restoration and maintenance of our relationship WITH the Father! He bore the pain of that separation from His Father on the Cross at the moment mankind’s sinfulness, past, present and future, entered into Him. He BECAME sin in our stead for ALL our transgressions. He BECAME our penalty, the price we would have to pay for our injustices and unrighteousness. See Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34.

I have stated this old cliché often, “you can attract more flies with honey than you can with vinegar” and that is why our Heavenly Father shares with us in His Word His ability to love so unconditionally. In that love, and with the understanding that His justness is a part of that love, we have hope, literally a hope eternal AND as that old Hymn says, a “Blessed Assurance!” We can speak of the consequences of making bad choices, but how much more appealing to share the Father’s willingness to want a relationship with all His creation and His willingness and ability to love each and every one of us no matter what? Besides, I would much rather love out of gratitude and desire than out of fear and force!

In closing, consider these words from the Beloved John as found in his Epistle, 1 John 4:17-19, “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.”

Fear involves torment, and if there is no fear in love then it stands to reason, that there is no love in fear. If you fear what eternity holds in store, then you haven’t been perfected in LOVE. To be perfected in love, you go to the source of love, the ONE Who is Love. He wants that relationship with you, and He already loves you. The sooner you realize this in your spirit, the sooner you truly start to live! Now THAT is Godly Justness in action!!

Revelation 15:3b, “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!”

I Don’t Just Tell You . . .

poeticpraisehdr
This is a personal poem from Mike to his beloved, YET, it is a perfect example of how God, our Heavenly Father, is to His Bride, the Church of Christ Jesus!

I don’t just tell you that I love you, that you mean so much to me;
I show you that I love you and I know you plainly see.

I’m there when you need me, your help along the way,
to hold you in your darkness to smile with you by day.

I am your knight in shining armor, to save you when your blue,
I don’t just only tell you, I am there for you.

When you feel sad and lonely all you need to do is call,
my heart will then come running, I will help you if you fall.

Ever since that time I met you, you were also there for me,
your love stretched many miles far across the deep blue sea.

You did not even know me but you still took that chance,
later on our friendship blossomed into true romance.

I told you that I loved you and you said that you loved me,
we started a relationship from across the sea.

It’s now been quite a while since I asked you for your hand,
the distance cannot separate two hearts which understand.

So many say, “impossible”, it’s something they can’t see,
but who GOD has joined together was only meant to be.

I don’t just tell you that I love you,
for I’ve shown it practically.

It is all because, the secret to this love I have,
it not only says, (it does).

“Beverly, my heart is yours.
Our life together does not need to become a reality,
for it already is.”

(Mahal kita/I love you).

I John 2:18-19

1 John 2:18-19, “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.”

John once again is relating to his readers in the familial of a father to his children, his little children, in other words, the babes in the Lord, particularly those who have been newly born-again. As with all children even in the natural, children are particularly susceptible to the influence of those who claim to have some authority and John is especially keen on pointing out the importance of staying aware when it comes to the truth and especially the truth concerning the Word of God.

He again, as he often does, reminds them of the coming Antichrist and that even before the Antichrist that will precede Christ’s return there would be and will be many other antichrists that appear claiming to either be or have ties to the messiah.

Now, we have to understand something about time itself as we read what the beloved Apostle wrote over two-thousand years ago. Many would say, and especially doubters, that things have been no different since John addressed this issue and nothing has changed, BUT, here is confirmation as the Apostle Peter addressed it:

2 Peter 3:3-4, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

2 Peter 3:8, But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

While I’m at it, I want to clear something up that I have reiterated time and again over the years. The Apostles and Disciples wrote as inspired by the Holy Ghost, but they wrote in a way that still took into consideration the time they lived and with the common knowledge they had. When Peter stated in the eighth verse that “one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day,” he was speaking an inspired spiritual principle and not a mathematical fact! Too many Christians today, believe this principle to be a literal statement concerning time concerning the Lord and that is sadly narrow-minded thinking and especially with the increased knowledge (that the Prophet Daniel predicted) that we have today. The principle that Peter was making was that time has absolutely no meaning to the Lord. He could have stated that one million years was as one day, but people in his time had a harder time comprehending that and yet the readers of Peter’s day, fully understood the implication that Peter was putting forth. To confirm this, another instance, again concerning Peter, is found in Matthew 18:21-22, “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

In this instance Peter thinking he was being more pious than the Pharisees asked about forgiving seven times since the Pharisees believed you only HAD to forgive three times. Jesus was CLEARLY stating a spiritual principle that you forgive a person as often as they need to be forgiven, yet even today in this day and age, there are those who believe that 7 times 70, or 490 times is an actual limit to forgiveness. No, I am NOT exaggerating for I actually served under a pastor that preached that. I am here to tell you, that after hearing that in a sermon and trying to talk with him, I no longer served at that church, yet NO ONE else questioned or wondered about his message on forgiveness.

Remember this important fact; the Holy Spirit inspired men of old to write down the Words that we have in the Bible, BUT, the Holy Spirit ALSO quickens our hearts and minds to the TRUTH when we read and meditate on that Word!

So back to the statement that John is making concerning it being the last hour, we can look at the spiritual principle here and realize that even as Christ Jesus hung on the Cross (if not before), the countdown to the Last Days had begun and the enemy of our souls KNEW it!! Remember, our Heavenly Father, God Almighty, reveals things to His children from the perspective of Eternity, for He Himself is Eternal, without a beginning or an end. He created us in His image, meaning we did have a beginning because of being created, but we have His eternal nature due to the breath of His Spirit within each of us!! We need to open our minds and get past this confining aspect we call time and realize that in God’s plans and within His will, time has no meaning and everything WILL unfold according to His perfect plan!

Remember also, John is only confirming what Christ Jesus Himself prophesied and stated; Matthew 24:23-26, “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.”

The Apostle then goes on to tell the “little children” how to tell, or how to discern, the true from the false, the true Christians, or disciples of Christ from the antichrists. He wants them to walk with awareness AND understanding. These antichrists are false teachers professing and propagating a false gospel. Just like their father, the devil, they may lace or sprinkle bits of truth throughout their messages, but these “truths” are taken out of context or twisted to make it more appealing to those hearing. To the discerning Christian, the true followers and disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ, these false teachers are the proof that the time of Christ’s return IS drawing nearer!

John is sharing some sage advice with the readers and signaling out to the younger converts that you will know them because “they went out from us, but they were not of us.” These were those who PROFESSED to be Christians, but separated themselves from the teachings of the Apostles and of Christ. John is telling the reader to not be fooled; they may dress like you, say all the right things and may blend in perfectly, but their hearts and thus their FRUIT will give them away. A prime example of this was Judas Iscariot. He walked with Jesus, seen the same miracles that transpired within their midst, heard the exact same message and deceived all the disciples EXCEPT Jesus, Himself. I am sure, Judas was center-most on John’s mind when he wrote these words.

The Bible describes this as apostasy; a turning away from what a person knows to be true and rejecting that truth and going back from the light into darkness. The Bible tells us that in the last days, apostasy will be on the increase! Now there are some that do NOT believe in this apostasy, for they say there is no way, once someone knows and walks in the truth that they can go back into a sinful life, rejecting the gift they were given. BUT, they cannot explain Scripturally the fact that apostasy WILL and IS to this day taking place.

Let me be very clear in this; if your theory doesn’t line up with the WHOLE Bible, it is not the Bible and it is not the translation that is wrong, it is your theory and you must adapt your “theory” to fit what the Bible says is true!

Here is the simple explanation of apostasy, and it ties in with repentance. Repentance is a 180 degree turn from the false towards the truth or the darkness towards the light. It is being remorseful and sorrowful in the recognition that you have sinned and are turning from a life of sin to a life of forgiveness in Christ Jesus. Apostasy is just the opposite of that. Apostasy is rejecting a life of forgiveness in Christ Jesus and willingly CHOOSING to walk back into a life of sin. It is rejecting the light to go back into darkness, etcetera!

What makes this so hard for Christians to comprehend and understand is that in their own hearts, they would NEVER consider doing something like this or comprehend how someone even could; BUT – the Bible says it does and will happen and much more as the Day of the Lord’s return approaches!

The beloved Apostle in his explanation showed and confirmed this to be true. “For if they had been of us, they would have continued with us.” John is looking back in reflection and letting his readers know that, he was aware of them being false because they did not continue with not just the disciples, but the disciples and Jesus’ teachings. As it happened during the early church, there were many that used, just like is happening today, bits and pieces of the Scripture, most of the time out of context to confirm a point they were trying to make. The best way to deceive someone is to give them a sprinkling of truth mixed in with something that is pleasing to hear and yet totally out of context with the Word of God. Those who are young in the spirit are the most susceptible and this is why John addresses them specifically!

Now here’s a point that John is making; it is not that we are saved by the actions of enduring to the end, but rather those who DO endure to the end are truly saved or born-again. This may seem like I was being redundant but in actuality look at it from the aspects of works versus faith. If enduring is works, that is NOT what saves me by itself, but if enduring is unto the end is in faith, than it proves that I have been truly saved.

I want to share with you another spiritual principle in what John concluded in verse 19, “but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.” As PROOF that they were not of us, not true disciples of Christ, not true Christians, “they went out that they might be made manifest.” In other words that they might be shown for what they really are, false prophets, antichrists in heart and spirit! These people didn’t think in their own minds, “we shall separate ourselves from the disciples to show the world we’re false.” No, but the spirit within them CAUSED them to fulfill the prophecies of Christ Jesus concerning the false antichrists! Their own deception has caused them to be “found out” or manifest despite the fact that they try to deceive by TRYING to pretend to be something they are not. John states emphatically, this is the proof you need as a young disciple or young Christian that “none of them were of us.”

Now I know I have brought this up a lot in the past and I will continue to bring this up. These very false teachers and antichrists would tell you that to follow these guidelines today is judging and you have to right to judge. That’s the great thing about the English language and why other cultures find it so hard to learn at times. The words we have in Matthew 7 which is the chapter most used to tell others not to judge, uses the word in the first part of the chapter and it means just what people say we are NOT to do. We are not to condemn or sentence to death or damnation anyone, first because only Christ Jesus Himself has the authority and the ability to judge a person’s heart.

Sadly, everyone is willing to finish the chapter at the 14th verse and completely ignore what the Lord then goes on to tell His disciples what to do beginning with the beginning of the 15th verse! You see, in the first 14 verses, Jesus is talking about how we deal with our brothers and sisters and that we don’t have a right to judge those who are TRULY our brothers and sisters! In the last part of the chapter though, He tells us in no uncertain terms to beware, to be wary, and how to DISCERN the false from the true, the deceivers from the real, etc. He lets us know in no uncertain terms that NOT everyone who says all the right religious things or does all the right religious works are going to make it to the Kingdom of God because, and here’s the point, they never had a RELATIONSHIP with Him!! Why is that so important? Because without the relationship with Christ Jesus who is the BRANCH, we are supposed to be the vines would produce no fruit! There would be NOTHING to prove we are His! He KNOWS who are His, make no doubt and He commands us to be discerning, judging, concerning those who say they are His and are truly not!

The next time someone tells you that you do not have the right to judge, make sure they are speaking within the right context for even John, the writer of this Epistle later on says, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” — 1 John 4:1. You see, the Bible will NEVER contradict itself and when there is something we SHOULD be doing or be aware of, it will always confirm that within other Scriptures!

Next post we will begin with 1 John chapter 2 verse 20.

Confess To God

poeticpraisehdr
I have been following this Sister in Christ’s poetry on Facebook for quite a while now and as so many of you know, I love inspirational poetry though I have no talent to write it myself. I was able to get in touch with Sister Wendy L. Macdonald and she has graciously allowed me to post some of her poetry from time to time! I pray that YOU will be blessed by her Biblical inspiration as much as I am! Also, she is a FANTASTIC inspirational writer as well, visit her website for so much more of her inspiration!

Each time we confess to God

The failings in our hearts

He forgives and wipes away sins

To give us a fresh start

Each time we come to God

And praise His Holy Name

He fills our hearts with joy

Day after day.

~ wlm ~

Confessing even the “smallest” sins brings us the biggest blessings of joy. No sin is small in the eyes of a Holy God. No sin is too big for God to forgive. What a gracious God we serve.

Taking Jesus Seriously?

John 3:16-18 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Happy & Joyous Father’s Day

I have been told often, believe it or not, that I spiritualize too much or over spiritualize everything. My reply has always been the same. I politely answer the person telling me this (and sometimes it has been Pastors), “that when you practice making your walk with the Lord Jesus, led by His Holy Spirit, a part of your lifestyle, you start to see the spiritual in everything around you. Sometimes you see the enemy of your soul, the god of this world at work, and sometimes you see the handiwork of the Lord and His Spirit at work. This is called DISCERNMENT and when you practice this Gift of the Holy Spirit, given to every believer, you become better able to see the spiritual in everything around you.”

Father’s Day is a day when we normally honor our earthly Fathers, and yet I couldn’t help but think, with everything going on in the world today, what if, when we honored our earthly Fathers, we gave great Thanks and Praise first of all to our Heavenly Father for which there would be no Fathers to begin with.

The Bible is full of Scripture showing us how to honor our Heavenly Father but for this day, I want to just give you a few. I hope that you will “spiritualize” this day when you think of your earthly Fathers and give God Almighty, our Heavenly Father some just praise as well!

Deuteronomy 32:6b, “….Is He not your Father, who bought you? Has He not made you and established you?”

Isaiah 63:15-16, “Look down from heaven, And see from Your habitation, holy and glorious. Where are Your zeal and Your strength, The yearning of Your heart and Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained? Doubtless You are our Father, Though Abraham was ignorant of us, And Israel does not acknowledge us. You, O LORD, are our Father; Our Redeemer from Everlasting is Your name.”

Isaiah 64:8, “But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.”

Malachi 2:10a, “Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? ….”

Romans 8:15-17, “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs–heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”

1 Corinthians 8:5-6, “For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.”

Ephesians 4:4-6, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

1 Peter 1:17-19, “And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

1 John 5:7, “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.”

And in closing:

John 14:
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
11 “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

HAVE A VERY HAPPY AND JOYOUS FATHER’S DAY!

Prayer For Peace & Calm

2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Arm Your Children!

Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Simply, Faith

Every so often, I still find myself having to explain faith to someone and especially when that someone has made faith so much more complicated than it needs to be. Let’s set a foundation for the simplicity of faith first.

Matthew 18:2-3, Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

And, Luke 18:17, “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

Why do you think that Jesus is so adamant about us bearing the character and nature of little children when it comes to the Kingdom of God? For one thing, we have all witnessed the innocence and humility of little children. They say for the most part what is on their minds without malice and they innocently believe what they are told by those they deem more knowledgeable. When they DO ask questions of someone more mature, it is never with malevolent intent, but rather with humble sincerity.

So even though the two passages of Scripture do not mention faith explicitly, they definitely imply that our relation to faith should be childlike or one of simplicity. It has been said as well as observed that the characteristics that make faith or any other spiritual characteristic so relevant is the beauty of a childlike attitude; trust, joy, innocence, curiosity, wonder and unquestioning forgiveness!

As children, didn’t we all for the most part, look up with absolute trust, to our parents? It is only after a child matures enough and sees the possible contradictions in a parents statements that a child starts to doubt, but at first, in their innocence, they always believe what their parents tell them.

So it is in the Kingdom of God! Remember when your spirit was first renewed or born-again? Remember the trust and the innocence with which you listened to every word that a preacher or teacher told you and accepted it without total sincerity and without question? That’s what children do! It is true that in the Kingdom of God we are to mature in our understanding, but not necessarily in our character, as Jesus commanded in Matthew and Luke.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 14:20, “Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.”

Now I’m going to put forth a rhetorical question for you to consider; why is faith so important? Yes, — this was sort of a way to set you up, for it leads me to one of my favorite Scriptures that I love to meditate and think upon and no doubt you will recognize me using it often:

Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

I love the way this was translated into English for the English language though many have stated it is a hard language to learn, as a second or alternate language, there are ways to garner ideas and context from the way something is phrased in English.

For example; if I reiterate the Scripture in Hebrews, “without faith it is impossible to please Him,” then because of the way it is phrased we can make a direct implication that IF “without faith it’s impossible,” it would then stand to reason that just the opposite applies and then we can imply that “WITH faith it IS POSSIBLE,” to do what faith is intended to do. In actuality it is a simple thing to rightly assume with the English language, but most who have been raised and taught the English language from youth will just read the original format and keep on going without a second thought. It takes going back and actually looking at what the writer of Hebrews is trying to say. He uses a double-negative within the sentence to make a positive point. “Without, and impossible,” then becomes the positive outcome which means, “with and possible!”

So back to the question as to why faith is so important and the answer that follows; “for he who comes to God MUST believe that He is, (He is what?), He is God, and because He IS God, He is a rewarder of those who DILIGENTLY seek Him!” The beginning of the sentence leads to the why of the beginning, but DO NOT overlook one of the key issues that the writer is stating: WITH FAITH WE CAN PLEASE GOD!!

This is the part that always excites me when I consider this Scripture. Think of it (and yes, I have said it many times before), God Almighty, the Creator of all that ever was, ever is and ever will be, the One we acknowledge as our Heavenly Father CAN BE PLEASED by His very own creation!! Think about the awesomeness of this idea! He created us and the universe around us and everything in it for as far as the mind can comprehend and yet, the simplicity of us believing in Him AS God, our Heavenly Father actually brings Him pleasure!! On such a grander level, it is as us as children, doing all we can to make our parents happy and proud of us! Yet with God Almighty it is a matter simply believing, of simple childlike faith IN Him!

So now we have laid the foundation of why simple, childlike, innocent, trusting in God and what He says, faith is so important in our relationship with God Almighty as our Heavenly Father, but it still begs the question that has been asked for ever, “what IS faith?”

Okay, you might think this is another way to set you up for a simple answer, but let’s explore one of the most well-known verses in the Holy Bible:

Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Yes, there have been countless upon countless teachings based on this passage of Scripture alone and it has been explained over and over again, but keep in mind, the faith we are exploring is NOT hard to understand but simple in it’s childlike innocence!

There have been an awesome amount of teaching on “Now faith,” with the emphasis on faith in the here and now, but that is NOT the context the writer of this Scripture is making! “Now,” is the continuation of a thought that ends in the previous chapter. Remember, the chapter and verse delineation was added LONG after the letters were written and only added (yes I still believe by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit), to make the study of the texts easier for the student of the Word.

But I digress; and everybody is familiar with teachers that have taken this sentence apart word by word and tried to teach it with word studies. That does have it’s place but keeping in the flow of simplicity and the character of childlike faith, I offer you an illustration or analogy I have used for years.

I come from, let’s just say an electrical/mechanical background in my secular career and so this idea came to me at a very young age in the ministry. Everybody can relate to being a child and either being actively shown or at least watching an adult enter into a darkened room, reach out to a switch or button on the wall and the next thing you know is the room is flooded with light! Your parents could have shown you, when you flip this switch or push this button, it will turn the light in the room on. You have experienced your parents doing it and you have accomplished this same feat all with the same expected result; it was dark and flipping the switch creates light.

As a child, you have no concept of why when you press that switch, a light comes on but you soon learn that every time you do that, there is light. You come to expect light where there was only darkness. After time and experience, you do not give it a second thought upon entering that room, it is not something that you are HOPING to happen, you come to EXPECT it to happen because of your experience OR because someone told you it would happen!

Imagine your dad sitting in his easy chair, reading the newspaper and it’s getting later in the day, the outside light is dimming and you walk into the room where he is and he turns to you and says, “Hey kiddo, would you please turn on the lights for me?” You don’t think twice about it, you locate the switch, flip it and there is light and your father is pleased because now he can get back to what he was doing! “Thanks, kiddo!” and you beam with delight because you made your dad, whom you love happy with a simple little act!

You don’t turn around and break down the process in your mind every time you accomplish it. “Wow! Dad asked me to turn the light on, and because I love him, I didn’t question whether there was power, or a light bulb, or the wiring was okay. I sure am glad the light came on because I was wondering what would happen if it didn’t and would dad be upset at me and so forth and so on!” WE DON’T DO THAT!

You see dad showed us and told us that when you flip the switch, light streams forth. How does faith come? The same way, our Father tells us and shows us and then the Light, shines forth. Romans 10:17, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Understand this; faith comes to us by hearing the Word of God! By hearing God, our Heavenly Father speak, whether to our hearts and spirit or through His written Word. These two will NEVER contradict and that is where faith comes to a believer’s heart!

Yet in its simplest form, THAT is what faith is. Our Heavenly Father has told us things written down for our sakes in His Word and because He IS God and our Heavenly Father, we believe (and as we mature we KNOW) them to be true and when He asks us to do whatever, move forward, move back, stand, pray, etc., etc., you get the picture, we do it without questioning, without worrying (supposedly). The thoughts as to what if it doesn’t work, what if there’s no power, no light bulb, etc., etc., doesn’t even enter our minds (or it shouldn’t while walking in true faith) and we move ahead in our daily walk and journey learning the intimacies of a Father and son/daughter relationship with the Lord of Lords and King of Kings!

Remember this; you don’t consider the power source that feeds the circuits that give you light in your homes. So it is in the spiritual; the Holy Spirit is our power source and when He is working and we are walking within that power, we don’t give it a second thought. The Holy Spirit directs our thoughts and sights to the Light, Christ Jesus!

Yes, the more you experience what the Father tells you and the truth of it, the easier it gets as our relationship with Him matures. Yet, the innocence, the trust and joy and the childlike nature of the relationship stays simple. As the Apostle Paul pointed out, our understanding matures, but our character in relation to the Father stays childlike.

The Prophet Daniel had predicted that in the last days knowledge would be on the increase (Daniel 12:4) and we can see that it has. Now I have stated this before also, that even though our knowledge has increased, wisdom and especially spiritual wisdom has dramatically and continues to decrease! It seems that has man has become more intelligent, the arrogance and pride of his intelligence has caused him to look at simple things in unnecessarily complex ways and thus loses the innocence and trust that characterizes the childlike attitude that Jesus says exemplifies the Kingdom of God!! This portrays the evidence that human-nature has not evolved for the better despite the increase of more knowledge! So sad, but oh so true!

You say you love the Lord and have surrendered to Him? You say you are a Christian, a follower and a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, whose mission is to SHOW us the Father? Then your heart motive SHOULD be to PLEASE the Father and the easiest way to do that is in the title of this article; how? Simply, Faith!

Woe To Them!

Isaiah 5:20, Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!
22 Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away justice from the righteous man!

But What About Grace?

About 3 weeks ago, I wrote an article entitled “Christians: WAKE UP!!” It was a pretty direct and pretty firm expose on the present-day “brick and mortar” church condition, most notably in the United States. I followed it with “But What About Hope?” an article exploring the attribute and foundation of hope as it relates to our spiritual journey with the Lord. I promised a follow-up about Grace and as I was writing I found myself putting down things that I have already covered in past posts.

I decided to check out and research what I have posted and sure enough, I had a couple posts that not only explains God’s Grace as I perceived it back when I wrote it about four and more years ago, but in fact, in the “church world” today not much has changed EXCEPT to get worse!! Let me tell you, this is NO exaggeration!

To read these posts that explain Grace in more detail, click on these links:
Law + Grace = Mercy
My Grace Is Sufficient

Now I’ve had this WordPress blog, “For The Love of God” for five years now as to this writing. I had one previously in conjunction with a website that was hacked which led me to start one. Before that time, I have had countless websites and even Forums with many, many members active on them. I tell you all this to make this point, since 1998 when I got my first computer, (yes, I was a late bloomer), I have been involved in online ministry as a way to keep serving the Lord after my accident that left me with trouble standing behind a pulpit. It opened up a whole new world of ministry and led me to people who were so hungry for teaching and truth that the local “brick and mortar” churches had neglected due to illness, disability and any other host of reasons and because of that I have written a lot on God’s Grace all through those years!

My journey into online ministry has been a DIRECT result of God’s Grace in action and not just in theory; and not just to me, but to those many others hungry for teaching and fellowship that I have mentioned above! So, I have done many studies in the past and since about 2005 one major theme has been evident; people are being taught that Grace is a free ticket to get away with anything they want to do, thus holiness is not as important, and the truth of the matter is that couldn’t be any farther away from the truth!! AND, as I stated above, the pervasiveness of this teaching has gotten even worse and you can see it displayed in the broken lives that are all around us and the people who claim to be “Christians” who have no idea how Christ Jesus would or does react in and direct their lives. Sin is no longer a concern, because this type of “grace” trumps sin, and thus you don’t have to worry that what you do, can still be displeasing to our Heavenly Father!!

The churches for so long have been teaching a watered-down version of God’s Grace that has left the church listless and powerless due to its willingness to compromise and accept the accolades of the world. Instead of going out and changing the world, the church today, under the guise of this faux-grace has been changed into the image of the world. The only thing different than the world that identifies many of the churches today is the vernacular, the religious-speak as it were. Very few are willing to take God’s TRUE Grace and check out that what they are hearing and seeing is the truth! They have completely ignored the teachings of the Word of God and especially the Apostle John’s command to “test the spirits.” 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

The church-world has been inundated with false prophets and in the spirit of “political correctness” because people are taught if you question a “teacher” then you are judging!! Yet, the very chapter that everyone quotes to NOT judge, Matthew 7, also teaches that we ARE to judge, or rather to discern, or as the Apostle John tells us, to “test the spirits!” People are so spiritually lazy, they would rather have someone else TELL them what the Word says than to check it out and actually study it for themselves.

Yes, we as Christians, TRUE Christians, do NOT have the right to judge (to pass sentence, to condemn to eternal death or judgment!), for only Christ Jesus has earned that right through His ultimate sacrifice. BUT — as TRUE Christians we are COMMANDED to test the spirits of those teaching, to discern truth from falsehood, right from wrong, to determine false prophets and wolves in sheep’s clothing!! WHY, you ask?

Because of God’s Grace to each of us who have truly surrendered to Christ Jesus and have accepted His free gift of Salvation and Redemption, we are to look out for the well-being of our fellow brothers and sisters in the spirit of true Agape love! Those that are mature are to look out for the well-being of those that are younger in the Lord. Those young and strong in the Lord are to look out for their elders with respect and love! This is what keeps the TRUE Church, the Body of Christ safe and able to perform their service for the Lord and to the fallen world! The trouble is, we have allowed the world to infiltrate with nice sounding false compassion and theologies based in lies but sprinkled with a few simple truths throughout!

Years ago, I wrote an article in the religious section of my local newspaper titled and explaining that a “Partial Truth is Still a Whole Lie.” Remember, even the devil quoted Scripture to Jesus at His temptation in the wilderness after fasting and praying for forty days!! The devil knows when one is weakest and what SOUNDS plausible, but behind his deceptive words are a motive of deception and destruction!! This is what TRUE Godly Grace helps us with! True Grace is powerful and uplifting, able to strengthen and protect the believer. False grace, makes you feel good emotionally, but it has no lasting effect! You always have to come back to “feel” energized again and again!

God’s Grace is free. Yes, the simple meaning is unmerited (un-earned) favor. We are getting something, but not “for nothing” because even though it is free to us, it cost Jesus Christ His life and spilling His blood, descending into the bowels of hell and then finally rising again so that we might spiritually partake of His gift of Redemption to us. We accept that Gift with that Grace when we accept what HE has planned for our lives. That Grace gives us the ability to accept what He has planned for our lives. We have nothing to do to earn it or garner it, EXCEPT to walk IN HIM! To do that, we identify ourselves with Him on the Cross on a daily basis. We walk in His Grace by allowing His Spirit to lead and direct our spirits! That is where the power and the strength to be TRUE followers of Christ Jesus comes from!

In closing, don’t be fooled by the Grace that tells you that you can’t be perfect, or holy, so don’t try to be. In the natural, we can’t for we are weighed down by the carnal, but we CAN strive for it, as an athlete strives to attain a goal! Just remember, God’s Grace overcomes the carnal, remember what the Apostle Paul told us in, Romans 8:
10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors–not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Live in God’s TRUE Grace!

Weapons of Our Warfare

2 Corinthians 10:4-6, For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Ephesians 6:12, For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

First To Rejoice

Luke 1:39-42, “Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”

But What About Hope?

Galatians 5:13, For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
14-15, For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
16-18, I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19-21, Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24-26, And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Job 27:8, For what is the hope of the hypocrite, Though he may gain much, If God takes away his life?

Psalm 31:24, Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.

Proverbs 10:28 The hope of the righteous will be gladness, But the expectation of the wicked will perish.

John 4:23-24, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Romans 8:24-24, For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

1 Corinthians 13:13, And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Galatians 5:5-6, For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Just the other day I posted an article that I believe was full of truth that the Holy Spirit was speaking to me about, “Christians: WAKE UP!” I don’t always get public comments, but what surprises me is the emails I sometimes get and the comments on Facebook in the private messages. Many, accept the truth, though hard to read it may be, they know deep down that we as true Christians have to wake up, seek the Lord diligently and allow His Holy Spirit to direct our paths before it is too late for some within the Body of Christ, the real Church.

Some, however, believe that I am defeatist and alarmist and tearing down hope for this country of which I am a part, the United States of America. Their two biggest comments, “nothing is impossible with God,” and “why are you so willing to dash hope?”

As to the first comment, I DO truly and sincerely believe that NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING is impossible for God Almighty. But I have also spent decades TRYING to be intimate with Him as my Heavenly Father, which also means I have tried to learn His Character and Nature, through His Word!

We serve a God of Hope and all it takes is a word search to see ALL the wonderful Scriptures related to hope! I am, at my deepest, a man of hope, BUT, it is hope in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His Father through Him!

When you read the WHOLE Word of God, and not just the warm fuzzy parts that make you feel good, you realize, His unlimited love for all also depends on the Character of His Justice, as well as Grace and Mercy! Today we have preachers who love to preach a Grace that allows everything and anything, despite God’s command to, “be holy for I am Holy!” (Leviticus 11:45, 1 Peter 1:16). They teach that the liberty that we walk in, doesn’t have any consequences or accountability, because of their brand of “grace!” This is so at odds with the rest of Scripture, yet I will deal with Grace in the next article.

But, what ABOUT Hope?

First we have to consider the basis or the foundation of hope in general. Basically, hope is the feeling of expectation or desire for a certain thing to happen, or the process of hoping for something to happen. Pretty simple, pretty general and yet, when hope is based in something spiritual, it is a much more powerful attribute and as a spiritual attribute it is almost always related to and in conjunction with Faith and Love!

Many today are preaching and teaching (and especially many celebrity preachers and mega-church pastors) that hope is a great thing and especially hope in what we as “heirs to the Kingdom” deserve in this life, in the natural! It tends to focus one’s wishes and desires, not on the “things above,” but rather the things that are seen and temporary! It is a feel-good message, full of “positive thinking” tips and tricks meant to garner numbers and emotionally uplift the congregation, but just like what it is focused on, it is temporary! Their pitch is just because you ARE a Christian, you need to set your sights on what you deserve in this life, because God WANTS you to be healthy and prosperous and be respected in the eyes of the World, so that they (the world) will want what you have and you can then tell them about the glorious benefits of serving the God of Creation!!

Therefore, because human nature is so very predictable, when you tell something to someone long enough and especially something that is pleasing to hear and something that everyone wants, people WILL start to believe it and thus a religious fad, unscriptural at its foundation, becomes a tradition in our local churches!! People today WANT someone else who appears so well-spoken and so charismatic to tell them what to believe and what is “truth!” They are like the Thessalonians in the Book of Acts, whom accepted most any preacher coming through their town and believing what they said without “testing the Spirits or double-checking the Scriptures,” like the Bereans did whom Paul said, “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” – Acts 17:11.

Today, very few examine the Scriptures after someone preaches because it is so much easier to just trust that they (their leaders) wouldn’t mislead them. The truth is, most preachers and teachers aren’t trying to mislead, but they themselves have accepted that which has been taught for a while despite red flags in their spirit telling them something doesn’t sound right in the light of other Scriptures. There messages sound positive, they are easy to digest because they build up one’s esteem, they are like self-help conferences meant to show you how to stand tall in this world, instead of causing people to fervently search their hearts to see if they need to ask the Holy Spirit to change them or show them the road to repentance. Like I stated in the last article when I quoted Keith Green’s song, “Asleep in the Light,” there is truth all around them and yet they have been lulled into believing that everything is alright with their souls while the world around them is falling rapidly into darkness!

But the HOPE of the Scriptures is alive with power and purpose. This kind of hope isn’t directed towards a political leader, a country or nation (outside of Israel), or a situation at work or an event in your life, but rather in the Spiritual where its REAL power lies! Hope is one of the three greatest attributes that the Apostle Paul lists in Corinthians and even though Love is the greatest and will be the one that lasts, eternally, hope in the spiritual, while we still walk this earth, goes hand and hand with faith, which the Bible clearly states is necessary to make our Heavenly Father pleased! (Hebrews 11:6).

This is the type of hope that believes in and relies on what the Father promises and in what we believe is true. As John 4:24 so succinctly states, “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Notice that this doesn’t just say “in spirit,” and it doesn’t just say, “in truth,” but rather we MUST worship Him in spirit AND truth!! Our hope, when it comes to our spiritual life, MUST be in spirit AND truth, just like our worship of the Lord. You might be asking why, when we live in the natural and there is so much to hope for in this life. There’s a Scripture to answer that question also: “while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:18.

This should be the Christians motto or banner, for we are no longer of this world. Yes, we are in it, and we must occupy and continue to work (Romans 12) until the Lord returns or He calls us to our real home, but we truly are pilgrims on a journey and our spiritual hope is that one day, we WILL return to our true home, the Kingdom of God that is prepared for the Lord and His servants and heirs! As I showed in the Scripture references above, Galatians 5:13-26, (see also 1 John 4:1-6), there is a noticeable difference in one who still clings with “hope” to this world and one who clings with spiritual hope to our eternal home!

Today also, there is very little teaching as to WHY we need hope and that I believe is due to the fact that so many are teaching hope for that which is in the natural as opposed to that which is spiritual. As so many Scriptures show, our hope, our true hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ, His works on our behalf and His and the Father’s promises! We have hope that our sins are forgiven (1 John 2:1). This is the beginning and basis for our hope in our spiritual and eternal walk. It is a hope based in faith and love, faith because we not just hope but trust in God’s Word and that His promises are true, though they are not clearly seen, and love because when He placed Himself on the Cross, it was for the Love He has/had for ALL mankind (John 3:16-17). How does this kind of hope compare to anything the world has for us to hope for?

In closing, I want to give you an example of spiritual hope, an example I give to many, many whom ask me what to do about lost loved ones who just won’t listen to them concerning the need for repentance or redemption. Our hope is and should always be in the Lord and in His promises to us as His children. When you have a loved one that just refuses to listen to God’s plan of salvation for them and everyone, you pray for them. You pray that the Holy Spirit will intercede on their behalf no matter what it takes, so that their blinded (spiritual) eyes would be open and their hearts would be open to the truth. You pray fervently and never stop praying for their salvation. As long as you have Christ Jesus in your heart, you will ALWAYS have hope that your prayers WILL be answered for we know the heart and mind of God, our Father, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9. You continue to pray for your loved one with that always in mind and continue to hope in the Lord.

If your loved one passes away and you are not sure of their heart and spirit condition, prayer is no longer necessary because after they step over the threshold from natural life to eternal life, prayer will do no good for now, their decision in the natural will dictate what happens in the eternal, BUT — even then, DO NOT give up hope, for God alone judges the heart of mankind and only HE can see the thoughts of the one who just passed into eternity! You continue to maintain your hope in God’s promises and in your past prayers UNTIL you, yourself passes into eternity and our Heavenly Father reveals to you the decisions of your loved ones!

This is the kind of hope, in the spiritual, that continues to quicken faith, to nurture peace in our hearts (a fruit of the spirit) and to gives us assurance of our standing with our Lord and Redeemer! This is the hope that should be preached from the pulpit, the hope in that which is to come according to the promises of the Lord. This is the hope that causes us to grow and to mature in the Lord! This is the hope that fosters an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father, the very reason Christ Jesus came to give us eternal hope and the very power the Holy Spirit gives us to walk in that hope!

Christians: WAKE UP!!

*DISCLAIMER: I know this is exceedingly long, but it is what the Holy Spirit has been speaking to me for these last several months while He told me to wait, watch, listen and pray. I was going to break it up in parts, but just couldn’t figure the best place to do that. I am NOT the only one who is calling out an alert, for you see it all over the Blogs and in social media. I believe our Heavenly Father is calling out His children to finally stand, to be alert and aware. It isn’t just spiritual battles that are at hand, it is soon going to escalate into all out spiritual war!

Important Scripture References:

Woe To Those Who Call Evil Good:

Isaiah 5:20-23, Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight! Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink, Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away justice from the righteous man!

Isaiah 30:8-11, Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever: That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the LORD; Who say to the seers, “Do not see,” And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel To cease from before us.”

Malachi 2:17, You have wearied the LORD with your words; Yet you say, “In what way have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil Is good in the sight of the LORD, And He delights in them,” Or, “Where is the God of justice?”

Luke 11:34-36, “The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.” (Also Matthew 6:22-23).

The Last Days:

2 Timothy 3:1-7, But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Romans 1:20-32, For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man–and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Luke 12:54-56, Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?”

To Shepherds/Pastors:

Jeremiah 10:21, For the shepherds have become dull-hearted, And have not sought the LORD; Therefore they shall not prosper, And all their flocks shall be scattered.

Jeremiah 23:1-2, “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the LORD. Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.

Jeremiah 50:6, “My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray; They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill; They have forgotten their resting place.”

Ezekiel 34:7-11, ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: “as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “surely because My flock became a prey, and My flock became food for every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, nor did My shepherds search for My flock, but the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock” – ‘therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them.” ‘For thus says the Lord GOD: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out.’

Zechariah 11:17, “Woe to the worthless shepherd, Who leaves the flock! A sword shall be against his arm And against his right eye; His arm shall completely wither, And his right eye shall be totally blinded.”

There’s a lot of Scriptures, I know, but understand this one thing; these are the Lord’s words, inspired by the Holy Spirit, they are NOT my words. I have always tried to be cautious about taking the Word of God out of context, and I implore you to be like the Bereans and study them yourselves to see that the context in which I am putting them is right and true! These Scriptures have been on my heart for a few months and the Lord has just released me to share them and the thoughts on my heart for all my brothers and sisters reading this!

We are in a precarious time in our lives right now and I feel that especially in the United States, we are on a precipice. I feel the same way about some of my neighbors also in the United Kingdom, in Australia and even in Canada, but for the U.S. I believe we are one footstep away from going over the edge!

I know, I know, God can still save America. BUT – is saving America as a nation truly His plan for us? These last six months I have been praying and meditating a lot and I know some of my patriotic Christian (TRUE Christian) brothers and sisters may not agree with me and I am telling you in advance, I am NOT a defeatist, but rather trying to see things with spiritual eyes rather than natural eyes!

Remember this from the Word of God, “while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:18. This verse is specifically speaking of things that afflict us as people and especially speaking to us as children of God, Almighty. But, if there is something that is afflicting true Christians today, it is the condition of our nation, which as a Christian we should be very concerned about!

I have truly listened these last several months to people and their concerns. Not just Christians either, but people in the everyday world around me. There are a couple of things that are very, very apparent: stupidity and lack of common sense are becoming PANDEMIC! (See especially definition #1)

From The Free Dictionary;

pan·dem·ic (păn-dĕm′ĭk)

adj.
1. Widespread; general.
2. Medicine Epidemic over a wide geographic area and affecting a large proportion of the population: pandemic influenza.
n.
A pandemic disease.

AND:

Human nature has NOT changed since the beginning of Creation!! For example; if human nature had been changing for the better, than children would NOT have to be taught to be good; it would be inherent, but children MUST be taught to not be selfish or self-centered and to be disciplined in certain areas. In fact much of our problems in society as a whole today are due to the fact that parents have been led to believe it is WRONG to discipline (as opposed to punish) their children so their children have no societal filters!

I know that saying stupidity and lack of common sense is becoming like a worldwide disease is rather harsh, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that in everyday life and situations this is true. With the increase of social media sites and places like Facebook and YouTube, it is obvious due to the proliferation of videos portraying not just foolish, but downright stupid acts for all the public to see. Review again what 2 Timothy 3:7 is saying and compare it to what you see going on in the world and all around you today, “always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

The Book of Daniel is a great book of prophecy and one passage stands out for me in this context; Daniel has been given a revelation into the last days and upon finishing receiving this vision, the messenger of the Lord said, “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” – Daniel 12:4.

Knowledge most assuredly is increasing and on an exponential rate. Advances in most Sciences and various disciplines, and mankind is certainly “running to and fro,” and yet with all that learning and knowledge, mankind is not gaining in any kind of wisdom. Spiritual wisdom is one thing, but man in general is even dismissing and ignoring what could be considered conventional or common sense wisdom!! It is a sad state of events in which mankind has evolved and in which so many are living in today!!

I was born-again (spiritually saved) back in the middle of 1969 and soon thereafter fell in love with Gospel and Christian music. In the late seventies, there was a Christian musician who became a musical hero of mine, Keith Green. Keith was not just a musician though, he had an evangelists heart and I truly believe was a modern day Prophet.

Now, I want to clarify something because there is NOT a lot of teaching about the five-fold ministries and in fact (though there are more than the five “greater” ones) many denominations today only will teach on three of those, (Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers), even though the Bible is clear that there are five (plus some lesser ones in the sense of not as well known)! Some denominations, for some strange reason, believe that once the “Christian” Church was established, some of the ministries were no longer necessary or that they were no longer ordained unto man and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit were no longer necessary.

Well, sorry to hurt some dear brothers and sisters feelings, but if the Holy Spirit felt inspired enough to have them written down and taught in the Word of God, I have to assume that in HIS great wisdom, He meant for them to be taught as long as the Word of God is essential AND relevant to man’s pursuit of having an intimate knowledge of God Almighty, our Heavenly Father, through Christ Jesus, the Son, and EMPOWERED by the very same, Holy Spirit!!

Now I prefaced ALL that for this one point: I believe Keith Green had a Prophet’s ministry with a love of Evangelism. Not a Prophet in the sense of foretelling future events, which by the way is a gift of the Holy Spirit, but a modern-day Prophet, one who looks at the Word of God in black and white with no compromise or grey areas of attrition. A Prophet’s ministry expounds the Word of God with authority, God-given, authority without excuses or justifying his teaching. It’s not that they don’t see God’s grace or His mercy, but they see His Holiness and His Just-ness above all else. This is definitely exemplified in Keith’s musical lyrics AND in his preaching!

This leads me to one of his songs that is a tribute to not just his uncompromising take on the Bible, but also his ability to see things in the Spirit and especially as it relates to the future. I’m of course speaking of the song he personally wrote, “Asleep In The Light.”

Do you see, do you see all the people sinking down?
Don’t you care, don’t you care are you gonna let them drown?
How can you be so numb not to care if they come?
You close your eyes and pretend the job’s done

Bless me Lord, bless me Lord You know it’s all I ever hear
No one aches, no one hurts no one even sheds one tear
But He cries, He weeps, He bleeds and He cares for your needs
And you just lay back and keep soaking it in

Oh, can’t you see it’s such a sin? ‘Cause He brings people to you door
And you turn them away as you smile and say
God bless you, be at peace and all heaven just weeps
‘Cause Jesus came to you door you’ve left Him out in the street

Open up, open up and give yourself away
You see the need, you hear the cries so how can you delay?
God’s calling and you’re the one but like Jonah you run
He’s told you to speak but you keep holding it in

Can’t you see it’s such a sin?
The world is sleeping in the dark that the church just can’t fight
‘Cause it’s asleep in the light
How can you be so dead, when you’ve been so well fed
Jesus rose from the grave and you, you can’t even get out of bed
Jesus rose from the dead, come on, get out of your bed

How can you be so numb not to care if they come
You close your eyes and pretend the job’s done
You close your eyes and pretend the job’s done
Don’t close your eyes, don’t pretend the job’s done

Come away, come away, come away with Me my love
Come away from this mess, come away with Me, my love
Come away, come away, come away with Me my love
Come away from this mess, come away with Me, my love
Come away, come away, come away with Me my love
Come away from this mess, come away with Me, my love

First, you can definitely see his heart of Evangelism, but when you read these lyrics, you also see, even though this was first released back in 1978, that he had a heart AND a concern for the state of the church and what it was going to be!

Now come ahead 41 years and see where the church and especially the church in the U.S. is!! Deep in my heart and spirit, I feel such utter sadness and pain. Why you may ask and what gives YOU the right to judge, you might ask?!

First, I am a part of the Body of Christ, the Church that God Himself, through Christ Jesus has called into being. I am not perfect and I have had to learn from my mistakes and with some of them, the lessons have taken a long time to get through, but through it all, my calling has been secure and without repentance in the eyes of my Heavenly Father; AS IT SHOULD BE FOR ALL TRUE CHRISTIANS! Romans 11:29, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”

My calling is to serve others and to do so with Godly love and not the false-love of feelings and emotions only, that the world would deceive you into believing is love. Godly love is an action, a call to prayer and intercession for others, a call to teach the truth of the Word of God, unashamed and unapologetic, a call to give, to help where ever possible! My calling was never to polish a pew or chair on a Sunday morning with my backside!! Don’t get me wrong, I definitely don’t condemn going to church if that church is teaching and operating according to the Holy Spirit’s direction! What I AM opposed to is that attitude of some of those who go to church to soothe their consciences and fulfill their feeling of obligation as if that is the sign that “all is well with your soul!” Then they go out and live like the rest of the world within the remainder of the week! That’s the spirit of religion, the spirit of this world and mankind’s desire to rise to the throne of God, just like Lucifer before the fall!! It is pride of the highest order in one’s own ability to win favor with God, when time after time after time, He has tried to get through to mankind and let them know that He and He alone has ALREADY accomplished ALL the work needed to come boldly before His Throne!

Hebrews 4:14-16, “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

It is because of the religious (as opposed to the spiritual), the pew-polishers that our country is in the state it is in! Because of the religious spirit that has permeated this world and the blindness to the truth and what is really going on and the embrace of all things “politically-correct,” we as a NATION are out of favor with the Lord! Let me reiterate that last part: WE AS A NATION ARE OUT OF FAVOR WITH THE LORD!

This nation is ONLY surviving because of those INDIVIDUALS that walk in the Spirit of God Almighty and are following after Him and His teaching, His Living Word, the Bible! I KNOW there are a lot of preachers and many big-name celebrity preachers that disagree with me and that there is STILL hope for this country, AS A NATION!

This nation is still standing because of the Heavenly Father’s blessings to those who still follow after Him and who follow His command to love Him first above all else and others secondly! Jesus Himself said this, “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” – Matthew 5:44-45.

When it rains, it rains not just on you but the person standing next to you, no matter who is spiritual and who is not. When the sun shines bright on you, it shines on the person next to you, no matter who is spiritual and who is not! When God blesses you and you follow the command to love others as yourself, if you are a TRUE follower of Christ Jesus, the person next to you will share in that blessing whether they are spiritual or not! But – ONLY if you follow the Lord’s commandment to love!

This and this alone is the reason why our nation is still standing. We need to continue to pray for our President who has been anointed for this time in history, however long that time is, so that God’s will; I will say it again, so that GOD’S WILL can be accomplished in the lives of the people who still follow after God’s will and serve God Almighty, our Heavenly Father, no matter what.

Our President may not be perfect, but then again, no one person is. We ALL have mistakes that have occurred in our lives that we are remorseful for if we have truly repented. But, God, our Heavenly Father in HIS awesome wisdom can choose to use ANYBODY He sees fit to use and He can and WILL anoint them for HIS purpose and plan to be accomplished; anybody read their Bible lately with all the characters the Lord called to serve? All it takes is a person who is willing to surrender for that period of time and President Trump is that man for this time.

To believe that God cannot or will not use anybody who has a past, is to completely IGNORE the teachings and the TRUTH of the Scriptures and the Living Word of God! Yet we have politicians and preachers, YES, preachers who have ignored the very fundamental teachings of forgiveness AND grace, mercy and even holiness because they have allowed themselves, in their arrogant pride, to be blinded by the very god of this world who only wants to destroy God’s true Church!

To all you preachers and teachers who still believe it is God’s plan to make this country a united and unified nation again, then you tell me this: How can God in His justice as well as His grace, bless us as a nation (as opposed to individually) while we still have murder under the guise of health care (abortion) and while we have laws that promote sodomy and homosexuality, not to mention adultery, etc. When we have laws that “bless” a union between same sexes and call it a marriage when marriage is a SACRAMENT meant to remind us of the covenant between the Bride (the Church) and the Lamb of God, (the Bridegroom)? A sacrament by the way that was instituted from the very beginning of the creation of a man and a woman! The creation where God as Heavenly Father looked down with compassion upon His creation, man, and created woman FROM man’s side; NOT another man from man’s side, but a woman, and then blessed them and told them to multiply!! How can God bless us as a nation (as opposed to individually) while we have people who come into this nation by breaking laws and they are given more rights and benefits than citizens who have either been born here and work to pay taxes or who have earned their citizenship by following the tedious steps necessary to gain that citizenship? How can God bless us as a nation (as opposed to individually) when we have elected officials whose very philosophy stems from a misguided religious belief that we are infidels (the very people who elected them by the way) and that we don’t just need to be defeated, we need to be DESTROYED? How can God bless us as a nation (as opposed to individually) when we have whole denominations that have taken a large drink from the liberal Kool-Aid and are willing to put aside the Word of God, the Bible, and pick and choose from it what they want from it as if it were a restaurant menu? What has happened to the very concept of morality, integrity and honor?

We want God to bless us as a nation, yet we have leaders in this nation that were elected who have struck down the phrase, “In God We Trust,” because it might be offensive to some (usually a minority) of the people. We have a leader who just within the last day stated that a law passed in the State of Alabama banning abortions except to save the life of the mother, is IMMORAL! Saving a baby’s life is immoral because the mother that carries that baby should have a choice to keep it or murder it; because she’s carrying it in her body!!! THEN DON’T HAVE SEX AND YOU WON’T GET PREGNANT! This person has more than once stated that protecting our borders with a fence or wall, in the eyes of God, is IMMORAL! She doesn’t once condemn the murder of an innocent child who had no choice in it’s conception, nor does she condemn the killing of innocent people at the hands of people who have NO RIGHT to be here, but in her mind, in the eyes of God, taking steps to prevent these sinful acts are immoral! AND – with leaders like that, there are truly those who believe that our Heavenly Father, who loves every one of His creation, despite their knowingly willingness to SIN, will BLESS us as a NATION? God, our Heavenly Father will ALWAYS bless and care for His children, those who follow Him, intimately along with the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have the protection and the security of the Holy Spirit that guarantees that. But that is individually, NOT nationally. There is only ONE nation in the Bible that God says He will save as a nation, through all time, and that is Israel. As a nation, they have been chosen by God, as individuals, they will still have to answer to Christ Jesus. But the U.S. nor any other nation has not been given any promises as a nation, however, as individuals, we have all been granted the opportunity to accept the absolutely FREE gift of an intimate relationship with God, the Father, through Christ Jesus and empowered by His Holy Spirit! THAT is a guarantee from God’s mouth to your ears!

And consider this; if God WERE to bless us as a nation (as compared to individually), He would have to, given His just and merciful nature, apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah for their destruction!!

What about the Scriptures that states in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Yes, there IS a Scriptural principle there but like so many who use the Bible as a menu, wanting to pick and choose what they want for their own desires, we have teachers and preachers who encourage this! This was a promise given to Solomon when he finished building the Temple to honor that site as a place where God will meet with His children, but read the WHOLE of chapter 7, for you will find not just what the Lord said He would do if the children of Israel (not other nations) abandoned His teachings, but a promise of what eventually was fulfilled in the ruination of that very Temple!! YOU CANNOT TAKE SCRIPTURE OUT OF CONTEXT TO FIT YOUR NEEDS! This is exactly what the enemy of our souls wants us to do!

God, as our Heavenly Father desires each one of His creation to be His child and to walk according to Heirs of His Kingdom. He WILL hear our prayers and forgive our sins when we humble ourselves before Him and repent of ways that are not pleasing to Him. This is the very essence of why Jesus came to lay Himself on a cross, but since Christ Jesus did that, it was to heal our broken and dead souls and renew our spirit relationship with the Father. It was and is NOT to heal our land, for that promise was ONLY given to Israel as a nation! Our promise is this individually: “And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” – Romans 8:10-11. This is OUR healing! It is spiritual, it is eternal and NOT just temporary in the natural!! We ARE His Temple now, each of us individually and He abides in us as we abide in Christ, individually! (1 John 4:13). This is the ONLY cure we have against the human nature that doesn’t want to change even after all these years since man and woman first walked in the Garden with their Heavenly Father.

As true, born-again, Christians, disciples/followers of Jesus Christ, we NEED to wake up and recognize what is going on around us and not be confounded or confused by all the noise that the enemy is throwing our way to distract us. The people that are blind, as hard as it is to hear and to believe, are blinded because they DON’T WANT TO SEE! True, Godly love, means that we continue to pray, and pray fervently for those all around us. We need to pray for our leaders, ALL of those in positions of leadership, and not just the ones we approve of. This doesn’t mean we have to compromise and agree with them and it doesn’t mean we can’t or shouldn’t speak up, don’t be fooled by that devilish lie, but we STILL have to pray for them. God has NOT stopped performing miracles. He can STILL open blinded eyes, but stop looking at just what you see in the natural and ask the Lord to help you start to see in the spiritual.

As individuals, if you have a preacher that just teaches you to have hope, but doesn’t teach you WHY you NEED hope (from sin), and is not willing to confront what in your heart you know is blatant evil and immorality (I’m not saying these should be EVERY message either), but is more interested giving you an emotional high, with the goal of only building your esteem and is not sharing with you the tools on how to fight battles spiritually, or teaching you how to duplicate what Jesus did with the disciples, by sending them out and letting them spread the Good News and the Love He has to offer, but is more interested in growing his own following, then maybe, just maybe, it is time to look for spiritual (real spiritual) food elsewhere. If you get pumped up on Sunday and can barely make it to the next Sunday service or at the least the Wednesday or Thursday service for another “infilling,” then you aren’t getting spiritual food, you are getting religious “junk-food” and you are starving where you are.

War is coming and it IS coming to the United States of America and battles are already raging, but don’t be fooled, this war is in the spirit and eternal lives are at stake. We WILL see things shake up in the natural and especially concerning politics, but don’t be deceived, it is first taking place where natural man can’t see because of his blindness. If you are blind, don’t remain so, for Christ is STILL the Great Healer and His healing isn’t just in the temporary natural world, His healing takes place where it counts most, in the Eternal, everlasting, spiritual world!
