The Trouble With Secular Diversity – Part II

Continued from The Trouble With Secular Diversity – Part I:

Where diversity becomes important in unity and the ONLY time it is used by the Lord to unify, is by what the Apostle Paul taught so abundantly: “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” – 1 Corinthians 12:4-11.

Now I must tell you, you HAVE to read the rest of Chapter 12 and even Chapter 13 on your own to continue on with this thought and I don’t mean to turn away some of my dear brothers and sisters from other denominations, but I HAVE to expound on this and say, even though you may believe these gifts AND ministries (read also Romans 12, the whole chapter) were ONLY given to establish and thus build the early church, yet this is NOT what the Scriptures say, but rather these gifts ARE given, not were, to build and grow the CHURCH, the Body of Christ with Christ Jesus as the Head! Again, the theme of UNITY!

When you read Chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians you will see, these gifts ARE important until, UNTIL, Agape (unconditional love) has been perfected in the Body of Christ!! When will that be? Do you think the way denominations cling to their concept of diversity in this present day and age that we have “perfected” Agape love?! I certainly don’t think we have arrived, how can we, when according to the Scriptures we are to keep STRIVING, we keep pushing forward, until we reach that goal?!

You see it isn’t the diversity of you as a creation that the Lord uses, He uses us ALL if we are abiding in Christ and Christ in us! It is the different gifts, the different avenues of service (ministries) that He uses and none of these things is dependent on whether you are male or female, what color of skin or where you were born!! If you are reliant on ANY one of these things in espousing diversity, you are missing the whole point of God using us to build the Body of Christ to make a lasting and eternal difference in people!

When people want to fall back on this hellish lie that diversity of the person is what is important and it is that thing that makes one race, gender, nationality more entitled or empowered than another, I ask them what kind of blood is running through your veins and what kind of Blood did Jesus Christ shed for ALL mankind, no matter the race, gender or nationality! If God created me in the same “vein” OR image, as some of His attributes, the ability to have knowledge, to reason, to create, to live spiritually, to LOVE, and I being a white guy, can give a blood transfusion to help a black man, or an Asian, or a woman to live who needs that type of blood coursing through my veins, then I guess for the ability to LIVE, to have LIFE is NOT dependent upon my physical diversity but rather upon the same thing that courses through the INSIDES of each of us!!

But, on the other hand, to give life to the Body of Christ, the Church, the Bride, the diversity needed to continue to allow it to live is dependent not on physicality but on spirituality and the gifts given and the ministries, those areas of service that is specific to each individual member to fulfill the needs necessary for the WHOLE Body to grow and strive towards that goal of Agape Love! Like the Apostle Paul states, if you aren’t the hand, does that mean you aren’t needed, or the mouth or the eyes? On the contrary, ALL parts are needed to make the Body of Christ, the TRUE CHURCH healthy, strong and able to fulfill its mission.

Our nation, the United States of America, along with the WHOLE world needs a lot of fervent prayer. Before the antichrist, there is a revival coming and we NEED to use the SPIRITUAL diversity of gifts and ministries that the Holy Spirit has promised to EACH individual member of the Body of Christ, the True Church! We need to pray for souls all over and we need to be alert and vigilant and not allow the lies of the world AND the devil to have sway over ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ! If you don’t believe it is as serious or will be as serious as I have suggested, don’t take my word for it; Jesus Himself stated, “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” – Matthew 24:21-27.

Can’t you see some of these things ALREADY taking place? The deceit and hypocrisy is no longer hiding in the dark or obscured by the shadows but is coming out into the light of day without fear and it is because the enemy KNOWS that his time is short! Do NOT be caught off guard. Look to the Word of God, it is and always was, living and powerful; it IS our ever constant guard AND guide!

A Divided Heart – Charles Spurgeon

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) was an English Particular Baptist preacher. Spurgeon remains highly influential among Christians of various denominations, among whom he is known as the “Prince of Preachers.” He was a strong figure in the Reformed Baptist tradition, defending the Church in agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith understanding, and opposing the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church of his day.

An Excerpt from his sermon:
Text: Hosea 10:2a, “Their heart is divided; Now they are held guilty.”
The disease of our text is one that toucheth a vital part, a part which if once affected, tends to vitiate the whole frame. But you will observe, the disease here described, not only deals with a vital part, but toucheth it after a most serious fashion. It does not simply say the heart palpitates; it doth not declare that the life-floods that issue from it have become more shallow and less rapid, but it declares something worse than all these, namely, that the heart was cleft in twain and utterly divided. A stony heart may be turned to flesh but turn a divided heart into whatsoever you please, so long as it is divided, all is ill. Nothing can go right when that which should be one organ becomes two; when the one motive power begins to send forth its life-floods into two diverse channels, and so creates intestine strife and war. A united heart is life to a man, but if the heart be cut in twain, in the highest, deepest, and most spiritual sense, he dies. It is a disease which is not only affecting a vital part, but affecting it after the most deadly fashion.

Prayers For Strength

Just a few prayers prayed for strength:
Psalm 86, Jeremiah 16:19-21, Ephesians 3:14-21, Colossians 1:9-14.

Division – Natural

anecdotal stories
Deuteronomy 15:10-11, “You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings. For the poor will never cease to be in the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall freely open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.'”

18, “It shall not seem hard to you when you set him free, for he has given you six years with double the service of a hired man; so the LORD your God will bless you in whatever you do.”

Romans 12:4-8, “For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.”

We Naturally Do It

In sixteenth-century Italy, once partisans of the pope (known as the Guelfs) and those of the emperor (the Ghibellines) took sides, nothing proved too small for a conflict. The “lava of hate flowed into all the avenues of life,” Durant wrote. The customs one group embraced, the other shunned as heretical. The traditions one fellowship practiced, the other intentionally and flagrantly violated. Unable to wear different clothes, each group wore its clothes differently. If one side wore feathers on the right side of their caps, the other moved theirs to the left. Unable to eat different foods, each sect ate its food differently. Neither group hesitated to kill anyone foolish enough to act as if the dispute were trivial.

That may seem to be extreme nonsense, but modern church members have been known to divide their congregations over the color of a carpet, the size of a building program, or procedures in worship. Mankind needs no instruction in the differences that divide. That comes with birth. What we desperately need is instruction in the similarities we all share. God teaches us to love those who reject us and to do good to those who hate and persecute us. He reminds us repeatedly that we are all one body.

The Trouble With Secular Diversity – Part I

January 8th, 2016 I posted an article in my blog under the Food For Thought Category, called “Diversities” and at the time it was more of something that had just struck me while watching a nature program and I thought of how the Lord uses diversity in the Body of Christ.

Since then, due largely in part because of the upheaval in the political divide within the United States (UNITED States, right), we hear so much about diversity, the importance of diversity, this political party or that political party is the party of diversity, etc., etc., blah, blah, blah!

I have been doing a lot of praying lately, probably more so than I have ever done, and not just for our country but for the countless lost souls, who say they are one thing, spiritually speaking and act AND speak like the exact opposite. I remember sitting in church(es) back in the ’70s and listening to prophetic speakers extolling the horrors of the end-times and I couldn’t imagine living to see some of what they were speaking about. Those that are still alive today, living through some of the things the Lord showed them are probably aghast at the LEVEL of blatant and open unrighteousness that is pervading our society today!

Since those days, I have seen what the Word of God has prophesied and have been “blessed” (cursed) with seeing a bigger picture globally than what I could have ever imagined as a young man! The longer you walk with the Lord, ups and downs, warts and all, that intimacy allows you to see the world from a perspective from the eyes of the Holy Spirit! Back then I couldn’t imagine how it could have gotten as bad as it is, but then even now, so very sad to say, it is nothing compared to what is just up ahead around the corner!

Now I’m not writing this to paint a picture of little to no hope, on the contrary, I am bringing out the truth of the current and upcoming situations to show that we only have ONE Hope! We should take great assurance in the fact that our Heavenly Father DID in fact forewarn us and has given us clues as to the imminent return of the Bridegroom, our Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ!

As I stated in the previous article aforementioned, there is a grave difference between diversity and division and as with so many things concerning language usage, words and meanings seem to evolve if not right-out change. What used to be considered as diversity is now being thrown around to bring about division as if that rather than unity is a good thing!

That’s the problem with things in the natural, or secular world. In most people’s minds, the natural world and the spiritual world are two distinct and separate places. The Apostle Paul in the last verse of 2 Corinthians 4, the last half of verse 18 does state, “For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” But he also goes on to say in the beginning of the following chapter, “For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” – 2 Corinthians 5:1. These two verses, though separated by chapter marks are a continuation of one theme.

Yes, the natural and the spiritual may seem to be two separate entities, for one is seen, the other is invisible, yet in truth, they are BOTH part of the spiritual. The Apostle John wrote in John 4:24, “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” God created the natural world from His spirit. Adam’s sin is what caused the seeming separation, the veil as it were, to be drawn shut, but the natural life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not just opened that veil, but tore it down completely. Noticed I said the natural life, etc., of Jesus Christ; even His resurrection, though spiritual, was a “SUPER-natural” phenomenon wrought by the Holy Spirit. He came in the flesh, He died as all flesh must, but He also rose again, in the incarnate flesh! That is so that we who die with Him at the Cross can also rise with Him as well. That is the spiritual promise, the spiritual assurance all those who ABIDE in Him are guaranteed!

But the world is blind to that. They are blind to that for one thing because they CHOOSE to be blinded to it. Oh yes, they have external help and it is help of a spiritual nature, but it is a choice none-the-less. Earlier in the same chapter Paul states, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” – 2 Corinthians 4:3-4. See, the Apostle makes a very telling remark in this, “who do NOT believe,” why CHOOSE unbelief? Because, “lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God (remember, God, the Father is Spirit), should shine on them!”

If you refuse to see the truth, if you choose unbelief, that choice is based in some motivation! The motivation is so that they WON’T see the glory of Christ! Why? Because the god of this world has deceived them into believing it is not necessary. What you DO see, what Paul calls the temporary, they don’t believe it’s temporary. You know that old cliché, seeing is believing? Well we all know as true Christians, that the cliché is a lie and is opposite of true faith; Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Notice the writer says the SUBSTANCE, which IS something real and tangible, of things HOPED for. Those who choose to “believe only what they see” are actively abandoning hope and choosing hopelessness whether they are aware of it or not! If I can’t experience it with one of my senses, then it can’t be real, so the idea goes!

When you go back to the very beginning of the Bible, understanding that the Bible itself was given to us as a road-map as it were to the Character, Nature and Attributes of God Almighty and the way to regain what was lost through Adam, we see the theme of UNITY throughout. The whole reason the Father wants us to find our way back to Him, through His ONENESS with Christ Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit is so that as we abide in Christ and Christ abides in us, the ONENESS we then have with Christ allows us the same oneness Christ has with the Father to be with us! God Almighty, the Creator or all, who wishes to be our Heavenly Father, desires us to be one with Him!

This was not just Jesus’ mission but His prayer as recorded by the Apostle John; “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” – John 17:20-21.

The theme of UNITY with the Lord runs throughout the WHOLE counsel of Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation! This is the SPIRITUAL truth of God creating us and giving us the free will and ability to choose. He wants a creation that doesn’t serve out of some programed command, but out of a willingness to LOVE Him for WHO He is and not just for WHAT He can do for us!!

I know, at this point you might be asking yourself what this has to do at all with diversity. The world’s view of diversity is that your nationality, your ethnicity, your race, gender and sexual identification even make you SPECIAL! That is what the devil WANTS you to believe. Whites are superior, blacks and Hispanics are an inferior class of people, men are stronger, women are weaker or smarter, Jews are scum, Arabs are the chosen, etc., etc., and every one of these ideas is a lie from the pits of hell!!

This kind of lie has ALWAYS been divisive rather than unifying, ALWAYS and it goes back to the beginning with Cain and Abel! As a result of WHO was better, murder came into the world and it has been the devil’s calling card ever since!! Why are people so blind, so WILLING to be blind, to see the truth?! This was NEVER the kind of diversity the Holy Spirit has ever used or exemplified. The Apostle Paul, who himself lived during a time of such divisive diversity spoke vehemently about this in Galatians 3:28-29, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

IF, IF, we are in Christ, being spiritually reborn, then we are of Abraham’s seed, neither Greek, Jew, Arab, male nor female, and your STATION in life has no bearing either, in Christ Jesus!! Nope, no divisions there. Rather we are ALL one or in unity, in Christ Jesus! Of course I know, you are thinking and rightly so, yes, IN Christ Jesus this is true. But the whole world is NOT in, Christ Jesus! Yes!! That IS the point! If the world is not in Christ Jesus, than why accept their definition of diversity as if it is some great unifying principle? Why believe the obvious lie?

Ravenhill Quotes – Leonard Ravenhill

Leonard Ravenhill (June 18, 1907 – November 27, 1994) was an English Christian evangelist and author who focused on the subjects of prayer and revival. He is best known for challenging western evangelicalism (through his books and sermons) to compare itself to the early Christian Church as chronicled in the Book of Acts. He was a proponent of the moral government or Governmental theory of atonement.

One of Leonard’s gifts was his ability to spontaneously create insightful spiritual maxims as he spoke. These were short, memorable observations about God, the church, and the world. David Bercot always took a notebook with him to these meetings to write down some of Leonard Ravenhill’s observations and maxims. Here are some of Leonard’s spiritual insights from those meetings:

“A popular evangelist reaches your emotions. A true prophet reaches your conscience.”

“The last words of Jesus to the church (in Revelation) were ‘Repent!’”

“A true shepherd leads the way. He does not merely point the way.”

“You never have to advertise a fire. Everyone comes running when there’s a fire. Likewise, if your church is on fire, you will not have to advertise it. The community will already know it.”

“Your doctrine can be as straight as a gun barrel—and just as empty!”

“John the Baptist never performed any miracles. Yet, he was greater than any of the Old Testament prophets.”

“I doubt that more than two percent of professing Christians in the United States are truly born again.”

“Our God is a consuming fire. He consumes pride, lust, materialism, and other sin.”

“There are only two kinds of persons: those dead in sin and those dead to sin.”

How The Apostles Died

1. Matthew: Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, Killed by a sword wound.

2. Mark: Died in Alexandria, Egypt , after being dragged by Horses through the streets until he was dead.

3. Luke: Was hanged in Greece as a result of his tremendous Preaching to the lost.

4. John: Faced martyrdom when he was boiled in huge Basin of boiling oil during a wave of persecution In Rome. However, he was miraculously delivered From death.

John was then sentenced to the mines on the prison Island of Patmos. He wrote his prophetic Book of Revelation on Patmos . The apostle John was later freed and returned to serve As Bishop of Edessa in modern Turkey . He died as an old man, the only apostle to die peacefully.

5. Peter: He was crucified upside down on an x shaped cross. According to church tradition it was because he told his tormentors that he felt unworthy to die In the same way that Jesus Christ had died.

6. James: The leader of the church in Jerusalem , was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southeast pinnacle of the Temple when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his enemies beat James to death with a fuller’s club.

This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation.

7. James: The Son of Zebedee was a fisherman by trade when Jesus Called him to a lifetime of ministry.

As a strong leader of the church, James was beheaded at Jerusalem. The Roman officer who guarded James watched amazed as James defended his faith at his trial.

Later, the officer Walked beside James to the place of execution. Overcome by conviction, he declared his new faith to the judge and Knelt beside James to accept beheading as a Christian.

8. Bartholomew: Also known as Nathaniel. He Was a missionary to Asia. He witnessed for our Lord in present day Turkey. Bartholomew was martyred for his preaching in Armenia where he was flayed to death by a whip.

9. Andrew: He Was crucified on an x-shaped cross in Patras, Greece. After being whipped severely by seven soldiers they tied his body to the cross with cords to prolong his agony.

His followers reported that, when he was led toward the cross, Andrew saluted it in these words, “I have long desired and expected this happy hour. The cross has been consecrated by the body of Christ hanging on it”. He continued to preach to his tormentors For two days until he expired.

10. Thomas: He Was stabbed with a spear in India during one of his missionary trips to establish the church in the Subcontinent.

11. Jude: He Was killed with arrows when he refused to deny his faith in Christ.

12. Matthias: The apostle chosen to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot. He was stoned and then beheaded.

13. Paul: He Was tortured and then beheaded by the evil Emperor Nero at Rome in A.D. 67. Paul endured a lengthy imprisonment, which allowed him to write his many epistles to the churches he had formed throughout the Roman Empire. These letters, which taught many of the foundational Doctrines of Christianity, form a large portion of the New Testament.

Perhaps this is a reminder to us that our sufferings here are indeed minor as compared to the intense persecution and cold cruelty faced by the apostles and disciples during their times for the sake of the Faith.

“And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” – Matthew 10:22.

I John 3:4-6

1 John 3:4-6, “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.”

Now we embark in some verses that at times are confusing to true followers of Christ Jesus and yet, in no way should be. You must realize that the Apostle is writing in a flow from one sentence to another. It is so easy for us, even in expository teaching to take a Scripture and evolve it on its own when in essence it is a part of a continuing thought.

With that in mind understand that John is continuing on from the previous verse stating that Jesus IS pure, He doesn’t purify Himself for He already IS, but we MUST continually purify or “practice,” as I like to often say, at being pure. (See again 1 John 3:3). Again, the old cliché, “practice makes perfect” has a lot of truth behind it.

John is reiterating previous thoughts and again showing the opposite of verse 3, here in verse 4. “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” Sin, the “practice” of sin, as opposed to rejecting sin for the evil against God that it is, is the direct opposite of purifying oneself. John is telling his readers that if you are purifying yourself to be as Jesus Who IS already pure, then you will not commit, or as the word implies in the original, it means to continue in or continue to do, sin. One who is abiding in Christ, with Christ Jesus abiding in them does not CONTINUE to “practice” sin, for sin is lawlessness, meaning rejecting what you know to be just and true.

Now I don’t mean to complicate the issue but follow me along here; many say that if sin is as the Apostle states, lawlessness, against the law, as it were, we AS Christians, true disciples and followers of Christ are no longer UNDER the Law. That is absolutely true! We ARE no longer under the Law. But John isn’t speaking of THE Law, that was given to Israel from God, through Moses. Remember, there was and is a law that is written on our hearts and was long before the law was written down by Moses from God. There was a law in our hearts from the time of Adam until Moses wrote the Law on tablets of stone! Adam broke that law which led to mankind’s sinful state, when He rejected what God told him, “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:17. Adam knew that God was His Creator just as deep in the hearts of all men, whether they confess it or not, we are “governed” by what we inherently KNOW is right and wrong!

The Apostle Paul wrote this to the Romans; “(for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them).” – Romans 2:13-15.

So without so much as a written Law, we ALL KNOW the law and we are without excuse when breaking that law, we ARE then lawless, for by breaking it, we are rejecting it. This is the law that the Apostle John is referring too. Not the Law for the Israelites for which law we were never under, but rather the insubordination or rejection of God’s will, and the rejection of His way so that we would pursue our own will. When we or anybody for that matter does that, continually, we are rejecting the Kingship and Sovereignty of God, Himself.

John continues on by telling us why we can’t keep on sinning by reminding us through inference that when we are abiding in Him, Christ Jesus and He in us, because there is NO sin whatsoever in Him, there can be no sin in us. This is NOT to say that we can’t be tempted, that we can’t slip and fall, temporarily, for we have already discussed that, BUT that as a PRACTICE, as a lifestyle, identified with Christ Jesus, we do NOT sin continually! We DO NOT practice sinning! To do this would demonstrate a complete denial of the very reason Jesus was “manifested” or in simpler terms “He appeared” to us, and that was “to take away our sins.”

He COULD take away our sins, because as John goes on to say, “in Him there is no sin.” Notice also that John states, there in NO SIN! He doesn’t say, in Him there WAS no sin; because as a matter of factual principle, there never was and never will be sin within Christ Jesus. This is the very reason why the Father sent Him as the PERFECT atonement for mankind’s sinfulness. For a Christian, a true disciple and follower of Christ Jesus, even in this day and age, to continue in a life of wanton sin would be to deny the very mission that He came, suffered, died and rose again to fulfill. It would be to deny the very reason of His Incarnation!

The Beloved Apostle is not the only one to express Jesus’ sinless humanity either:

1 Peter 2:21-22, “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth.”

2 Corinthians 5:21, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Hebrews 4:15, “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

Again we see the purity of Christ, the sinlessness of Jesus. If we truly ARE followers of Him and are identified with His Name and anointing (remember Christ MEANS Anointed One), then we have to walk and practice purity AND righteousness or living a life without sin! We live in a time right now, when everyone proclaims to be a Christian if they “believe” in A god, whether it be the One, God Almighty or some other expression of Him. You can be RELIGIOUS, meaning you follow traditions of a church or denomination one or two days a week and live like the devil the rest of the time, but you are a “Christian!” You are being taught that God’s Grace excuses and justifies your sins and unrighteousness because you are forgiven and don’t need too, as the Apostle Paul describes it, STRIVE to be worthy, holy or pure. Yet, you are STILL a “Christian,” never learning the true meaning of Grace or understanding God’s justness because you repeated some Bible words and made a confession, forgetting that along with that comes a complete change of heart AND spirit, a demonstration of a changed life!

You haven’t been taught and so accept the fact that striving to be worthy, holy and pure doesn’t save you, but rather because you are “born-again” these would be attributes you WOULD practice attaining because you have been spiritually renewed! You are being taught a “Gospel” of convenience because discussing sin is so unpleasant and yet so necessary if we are to be able to teach on Hope, Grace, Mercy, Forgiveness, Agape Love and so many other characteristics and Fruit of the Spirit we LOVE to hear about. Without the knowledge of sin, there is no reason for these other things, so many settle to hear the good, the sweet and ignore the reason why they are so precious!

We have been taught for so long that to teach or preach about sin and the consequences of sin is to make people sin-conscious which is such a bad thing. Just like the world system’s concepts of what is and isn’t “politically correct,” the mainstream churches have adopted their own PC topics and principles, all leading to a dry, apathetic powerless, religious organization that the Apostle Paul was inspired to address to his protégé Timothy, a very prophetic word indeed:

2 Timothy 3:
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
2-5 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
6-7 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8-9 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

I’ve said all this to make a point that the Apostle John makes in verse 6, where he is contrasting a TRUE believer, with one who is a believer pretty much in name only! It can definitely be stated that one who CONTINUES to PRACTICE sinning, without remorse or repentance is NOT a true follower of Christ for as the Apostle states, “Whoever abides in Him does not sin.” Notice also the Apostle Paul in verse 8-9 of his remarks to Timothy, he states that “those who are not true, will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest or made known to all!” Those who are NOT true will be KNOWN to true believers for the Lord, through the power and guidance of His Holy Spirit will not allow true Christians to be blind to the truth! Discernment is a gift that is given to protect the individual members and the Body of Christ as a whole, the TRUE Body of Christ, not some man-made organization used to harness and garner power and say over a congregation willing to abandon their God-given rights to walk IN the Holy Spirit and ABIDE in Christ Jesus!

Now understand something very important; do NOT twist my words or my context. I am NOT opposed to church or churches that allow the Holy Spirit to lead them and where Christ Jesus is the Head and those called into leadership follow that guideline. Christ Jesus IS the Great Shepherd, make no doubt and all we who have been called are underlings or under-shepherds with a grave responsibility to nurture, feed and care for HIS flock! If my words are echoes of the Great Shepherd, the sheep will hear me and if not, they WILL scatter and I WILL be responsible to the Master for the harm done! So it is with any church leader who is truly attempting to follow after Christ Jesus empowered and led by the Holy Spirit!

John finishes by making a statement that is or at the least should be an individual warning to each believer; “Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.”
This is a continuation of his thought where he is contrasting the true believer with the one in name only; but he goes on a step further and here he IS talking about those who continually sin even after they say they have been born-again, or saved. There is an indication, there is something we can see, something we can use to determine truth from falsehood with the gift of discernment; if a person continues a lifestyle, continues to practice sinning, then they have never truly KNOWN Christ Jesus. They have never truly seen Him or understand His character and WHO He is. They have no intimate knowledge of Him and Who He is. Yes, they may have an educational knowledge or even an historical knowledge, but that is only knowing ABOUT Him as I would know about my grocer, of the schools my kids went too etc.

To truly KNOW Christ Jesus means to have communion with Him and you can only commune with Him if He abides in you and you abide in Him. You then have and develop an intimate knowledge of Him and you try to hide nothing of yourself from Him. It is much more than just a friendship that the disciples and followers had, because there is a oneness that develops in the spirit because of His and your abiding with one another! It is the difference of only BELIEVING in Him and actually KNOWING Him! Think about that difference!

I know it sounds like a cliché, but there is powerful truth in the statement that “to know Him is to love Him!” When you are abiding in one another there is a security, a peace and a power that is beyond comprehension. There is an intimacy beyond anything that can be naturally perceived. When you develop a love for Someone like that, the last thing you want to do is to offend or hurt them. This is what the Beloved Apostle is stating! When we truly are His and belong to Him, we no longer desire to do our own will, to do our own “thing” as it were and will do whatever to avoid hurting and offending Him. Those who do NOT have that abiding and intimate presence, may TRY and “be good,” but without that deep-seated Love and abiding presence motivating you, you are doomed to fail.

So remember, John is definitely bringing encouragement to those who CHOOSE to abide and then those who practice purifying themselves by rejecting unrighteousness and selfishness. Remember what we have discussed before, in the earlier chapters, “And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” – 1 John 2:1b. He is ever interceding for us and because we can abide in Him and He does abide in us, we have something so much better than mere conscience; we have someone Who loves us more than we can ever imagine fighting for us to be holy as He is holy and to be pure as He is pure!

Next post we will begin with 1 John chapter 3 verse 7.

Where Is Your Zeal For God? – J.C. Ryle

John Charles Ryle (May 10, 1816 – June 10, 1900) was an evangelical Anglican clergyman and first Bishop of Liverpool. He was renowned for his powerful preaching and extensive tracts.

Let me speak to your conscience. Where is your zeal? Where is your zeal for the glory of God, and for extending the Gospel throughout the world? You know well, that it is very low. You know well, that your zeal is a little feeble glimmering spark, that just lives, and no more—it is like a thing ready to die. Surely there is a fault somewhere, if this is the case. This state of things ought not to be. You, the child of God—you, redeemed at so glorious a price—you, ransomed with such precious blood—you, who are an heir of glory such as no tongue ever yet told, or eye saw; surely you ought to be a man of another kind. Surely your zeal ought not to be so small.

The Rock!

I remember after being “saved,” born-again, that my future mother-in-law always used to say to me, “It is better to fall on THE Rock and be broken, than have THE Rock fall on you and be crushed.” I thought it was always an encouraging and inspirational saying and wasn’t until a bit later I found the Scripture to which she took it from. I have for decades now remembered it and am forever thankful to my wife’s and eventually, my mom!

“And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”
— Matthew 21:44

It’s What You Do . . .

It’s what is done that proves our love, so much more than what we say,
for words said without actions, are spoken every day.

It’s what we do with what we speak; the two go hand in hand,
GOD so loved HE gave HIS SON, a sacrificed for man.

Jesus was obedient to HIS FATHER, that HE gave,
HE gave HIS life and took our pain, so that we could be saved.

Just think that if HE did not do, to hang upon that cross,
we would have lost our very souls, that would have been the cost.

We should praise the FATHER for HIS love, that HE would choose to prove,
it’s not the words we say, but what we choose to do.

Obedience is what JESUS did, it was the only way,
to save us from our sins, but it took HIM to obey.

They beat HIM and they tore HIS flesh, they nailed HIM to that cross,
it’s what HE did that saves us, but HIS obedience had a cost.

If we say we love our brother who is hungry or in need,
and we do not help him, is that how loves supposed to be?

GOD commands us to love HIM first and to love our fellow man;
words must come with actions for the two go hand in hand.

By doing we are loving and obeying our GOD’S will,
not doing is not loving, if the words are not fulfilled.

Better yet, don’t speak at all, allow what love would do,
love our GOD with all your heart and to HIS love be true.

HE gave us an example to follow humbly,
as HE became a servant and chose to wash man’s feet.

It’s what we do in love that proves, that our Religions true,
so love our GOD with all your heart, love others, as you would love you.

Revival Prayer & Plea

Psalm 80:
1-7, To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Lillies.” A Testimony of Asaph. A Psalm. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth! Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, Stir up Your strength, And come and save us! Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved! O LORD God of hosts, How long will You be angry Against the prayer of Your people? You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in great measure. You have made us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves. Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!

8-19, You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it. You prepared room for it, And caused it to take deep root, And it filled the land. The hills were covered with its shadow, And the mighty cedars with its boughs. She sent out her boughs to the Sea, And her branches to the River. Why have You broken down her hedges, So that all who pass by the way pluck her fruit? The boar out of the woods uproots it, And the wild beast of the field devours it. Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, And visit this vine And the vineyard which Your right hand has planted, And the branch that You made strong for Yourself. It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance. Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself. Then we will not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name. Restore us, O LORD God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!

Empty Words – A.W. Tozer

Aiden Wilson Tozer (April 21, 1897 – May 12, 1963) was an American Christian pastor, author, magazine editor, and spiritual mentor. Self-taught theologian. Fearless preacher. Gifted writer. Man of the inner life. A.W. Tozer, called by many a “modern-day prophet.”

We Christians owe it to ourselves and to the human race to be above all persons, candid, downright and completely transparent. We must have no truck with fancy, but see to it that our religious talk hugs the facts as tightly as a glove and that our words always have some reality corresponding to them.

Over the years I have been disturbed more than a little by the vague unreality of much that I hear among religious people. This is not a charge of insincerity. I have no doubt of the sincerity of most religious persons. It is the lack of reality that disturbs me. Indeed the gravity of the situation is increased by the very earnestness with which many persons are occupied with unreality.

Religion stands at the top as being among all fields of human interest the one most addicted to words. Nowhere else are there so many words and so few deeds to support them. There is something about a religious gathering, and particularly about a church building, that produces in the worshiper a state of pleasant languor and suspends his critical faculties for the duration of the service. The average Christian goes to church expecting to hear certain words and phrases and the average preacher knows what they are. It does not matter too much in what order they occur, and if they should be spoken with a considerable degree of enthusiasm, so much the better; only let them be familiar and harmless. Nothing more is required or expected.

Sin – Unforgiven Punished

anecdotal stories
Numbers 32:23, “But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will find you out.”

Romans 2:9-10, “There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”

No Exceptions

The son of a famous American was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving, a plea bargain that saw the drunk driving charge dropped. Two policemen, one an eighteen-year veteran and former vice detective, were arrested for using an escort service as a prostitution ring. They pleaded guilty only to obstructing justice, a result of plea bargaining that saw the more serious charges dropped. It is amazing what serious violations of the law can be overlooked in the prosecution of lawbreakers. What is an affront to even a primitive sense of justice – allowing felons to plead guilty to lesser charges – mocks the entire judicial process.

No plea bargain can be made with unforgiven sin. It is never forgotten, minimized, or excused, and no allowances will be given for position, fame, or wealth. With the Judge that none can corrupt or impress, all unforgiven sins will be punished. Those who refuse to surrender their sins will pay a penalty. That is the threat of the cross when its forgiveness is refused.

I John 3:1-3

1 John 3:1-3, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

As the Beloved Apostle continues in this next verse, we see that it is, in essence a continuation of the last previous verses in Chapter 2, but look at what manner he writes: Behold! As in “So therefore, Behold!” He conveys an excitement concerning the Father’s Love! Contemplate it, look at it, be amazed by it, wonder at it, this love that God Almighty, our Heavenly Father HAS already bestowed, given, gifted, awarded, bequeathed, imparted to us! According to the Apostle under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, be amazed because this love has already been given; not SOON to be given, not eventually given, but has already, past-tense, been given.

I would imagine that John was probably thinking back to previous writings and circumstances he witnessed firsthand; looking up upon the battered, bruised and broken body of his Lord and Master as Jesus hung limply on the Cross of Calvary. I can imagine the tears welling in his eyes as he remembered the undeniable depth of sadness and fear at what might happen following. YET – I am sure, as he remembered the words he wrote concerning the Love that His Master had shown the world in those final moments, his heart leaped at the promises:

John 3:14-17, “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Behold!! What manner of love the Father has already given!! How gracious, how precious, and yet to a degree how unknowable the depth of that love. Man in his limited knowledge and even more limited wisdom cannot truly fathom the depth of this amazing gift that he has been given. Such is the ABSOLUTENESS of our Heavenly Father’s great gift to us!

Yet even as John writes this statement with such awe and wonder, he doesn’t finish the sentence there. This love is so awesome, so wondrous, so amazing, yet, the Father isn’t finished with just that; rather, we can with certainty and confidence be called, CHILDREN of God Almighty!! If you are even catching a glimpse of the Apostle’s excitement in putting this down on paper, think of all the implications of that statement! God Almighty, Creator of all that is, all that ever was as far back as man’s imagination can take him and as far forward as man dares to think! That God! The God who made the vastness of the universe that even today modern man with all his knowledge can’t even begin to comprehend and then, the same God who made the smallest infinitesimal particles that make up every material thing, so small and seemingly insignificant, yet even now we don’t know truly what makes up the smallest known particle in existence. The same God, the same Creator, lovingly bestows upon us His love, in and of itself, not being fully comprehended and on top of that calling us HIS children! Children of the Creator of ALL! Children of God Almighty! It is no wonder, the excitement that the Apostle’s writings conjure up when we truly read this first sentence!

But, with all the excitement and wonder that implies; the world does not, even now, in this exact moment and instance, know us or recognize us as children of God Almighty. And, John tells us the sobering truth; because it did not nor ever did, know Him, God, Almighty! If the world, those in love with the world system, do not even recognize the Creator of All that is, how will they ever recognize those who are His children. Though we are right in front of them living our lives, they do not recognize us, for they do not recognize our Heavenly Father as Almighty God. How truly sobering and ultimately sad. This fact should make every true child of God’s heart break with sadness.

The same love that our Heavenly Father has for His children, those He calls His children is the exact same love He has and is available to those who do not even recognize or acknowledge Him. It is within the grasp of every man, woman and child, just within a whisper of saying “yes” to the gift He has for everyone, and some refuse to believe it possible, to believe it is free, to believe that it is available. Because of this, if the world hates the Father, the world will and does hate the children and we see it so blatantly in the day we are living today.

But there is hope, there is promise, there is comfort in being a child of Almighty God and being able to confidently call Him Father! Just look at the next statement the Apostle writes down; NOW, right NOW we are children of God! We don’t have to wait until some future time to be called or to acknowledge to ourselves that we WILL be children of God! No, for right NOW we ARE children of God! Just contemplating this and writing it down is giving me chills. To think that, as I stated before, the Creator of All, God Almighty considers me (and you) His children right this moment!

But then, the Apostle who calls us beloved, continues with the glorious promise starting with a mystery; “and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, . . .” John just got through stating with such passion that right now, we ARE children of God Almighty. But then, the mystery. This mystery is not concerning us being children of God. John is NOT going back on his previous statement, but rather continuing on with further revelation of what we can look forward to AS children of God! Up to this point, the Holy Spirit has revealed to us our heirship as children of God. Here he is telling us, not just inferring, but coming straight out and telling us that there is more in store for children of the Most High! Yet, what that is, has not yet been revealed! There IS more, but that part is a mystery, a mystery found in Christ Jesus!

Why do I say, a mystery found in Christ Jesus, you may ask? Simply because of the continuation of what John is telling us of God’s precious and amazing promise. “. . . but we know that when He is revealed, . . .” When Christ Jesus is revealed; but then again, hasn’t He been revealed already? Certainly to his close disciples and Apostles, for they walked with Him daily. Yet the Apostle is talking about something else entirely; for you see, don’t forget that NOW, in this present state we are in, we are called and acknowledged as children of God. I don’t mean to be redundant, but understand, we are still flesh and blood; we are still carnal, though spiritually, inside reborn and because of that fact we do not have to wait to be called or acknowledged as children of God. But something ELSE is going to be revealed in the future that is NOT revealed to us in the NOW! Right now it IS a mystery, but a mystery with promise for when He, Christ is revealed it will no longer be a mystery.

Here is the thing; the disciples KNEW Jesus in the flesh, they KNEW Jesus soon after He rose before He received His glorified body, (John 20:17), but they did NOT know Him AFTER He ascended to the Father and received His glorified body. When He IS revealed as He IS NOW, in His glorified body, from that time forward, it will be in ALL His glory! Right now, we can only imagine what it must be like. John is telling us that we just do not know, but the time WILL come, when He, Jesus, reveals Himself that we will KNOW, and here is the greatness of that promise: “. . . we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

If it would help to understand what John is saying, you could finish the sentence this way; “we shall see Him as He is, and we shall be like Him.” When Christ Jesus is revealed, when He comes back to claim His own, those who ARE children of God, AS Jesus Christ is, will see Him as He is right now, in ALL of His glory, and the flesh and corruption of our carnal selves will also fall off and we shall be like Him, with a glorified body that will be uncorruptible, quickened by the same Spirit, the Holy Spirit, that raised Christ from the dead. “And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” – Romans 8:10-11.

One side note here for those who love to speculate outside of the Scriptures. There will be NO doubt in our minds, those who are abiding in Christ Jesus and those who ARE NOW children of God as to Who, Christ Jesus is! There will be no more “spiritual fog” or anything that will prevent us from truly KNOWING AND recognizing our Lord and Savior! By the same token, I will be known for who I am, though my Body is no longer fleshly or carnal in nature and so it shall be for all who are now abiding in Christ Jesus and He is abiding in you! The Apostle Paul gave us a glimpse of this when He wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit; “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” – 1 Corinthians 13:12. Again, further confirmation within the Word of God, by another inspired writer from the Holy Spirit about the wondrous promise that will come to children of God!!

There is another amazing aspect to this promise as well; the sin that was a part of our carnal and fleshly makeup, according to Paul in Romans is dead; it is gone, it is replaced with a body glorified, just as Christ Jesus’ was! Sin will finally be no longer in our DNA or genetic makeup! The ONLY DNA that will matter is the Spirit of God that breathed life into us from the very beginning and made us in HIS likeness!! Think on that! If you want to speculate on something, speculate on the amazing gift of our Heavenly Father’s likeness of spirit, quickening our then glorified and uncorruptible bodies!! It is no wonder the Beloved Apostle said that “as yet we don’t know how we shall be, but when Christ is revealed, we shall know, for we shall be like Him!” Abiding in Him today, assures us of abiding in Him for ALL eternity!! If you haven’t tried to contemplate eternity, do so and then think about this AWESOME gift our Father through Christ Jesus is giving to us so freely! If that doesn’t literally cause your thinking to “blow up” then I can’t imagine anything will!!

Then John goes on to give us the seal to this great and awesome promise: “And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” If you are one that is abiding in Christ and Christ is abiding IN you, right now you ARE a child of God, with all of the benefits and future promises described above as part of your heritage. So, you HAVE, right now, not later, this HOPE and so just as Christ Jesus is NOW pure, we will do all to purify ourselves.

John all along is talking about us becoming like Christ Jesus once Christ is revealed to us as He IS right now. I have to reiterate this point; Christ Jesus right NOW is pure. He does NOT have to purify Himself, for He is already pure and in His glorified state! Right NOW, we also have this hope, but here is the difference; we have the hope, but we are not yet, totally purified for as yet we are NOT the same as Christ in His glorified body. We STRIVE to be pure, we work at it and don’t get me wrong, not to GET saved, for we are already Redeemed but rather BECAUSE we are already Redeemed, we strive to be pure as Christ is ALREADY pure. Our hope, our promise is that when Christ is revealed to us as He is now, then, not only do we become incorruptible in body, but we also become pure, because the fleshly, carnal body is dead as we put on the glorified body like our Savior and Redeemer!

Three short verses that the Apostle John wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to encourage and uplift believers and yet they are so full of spiritual promises and insight! This is why it is important to STUDY the Scriptures. To think about them and contemplate them, for in them are treasures that the carnal man cannot even comprehend! And think about the insights into the Nature and Character of our Heavenly Father! We begin to get an intimate glimpse into Him Who loves us without condition! He doesn’t JUST want a relationship with us, He also wants us to be LIKE Him. His love, His justness, His grace and mercy are ALL attainable and WILL be attained when Christ Jesus is revealed as He truly is, right now! What a great and glorious day for ALL of us who ARE children of God!

Next post we will begin with 1 John chapter 3 verse 4.

Prayer For Online Ministries

This is a prayer that I wrote back in 2010 for several online ministries that were not just struggling, but having doubts as to their credibility as ministries. The Lord led me to online ministry back in 1996 after having suffered a debilitating injury that caused hardship standing behind the pulpit after a couple of years. Through this though, I found literally countless ill, handicapped and disabled brothers and sisters online searching for fellowship and truth in teaching the Word of God that the local churches had abandoned!

If you are called to share your gifts in online ministry, do NOT doubt the power or leading of the Holy Spirit! Remember what the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 11:29, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” Our Heavenly Father through His Holy Spirit is never sorry and will never take away the gift of ministry He has called you too. He will ALWAYS make a way for a servant who is humble and willing!

Our Heavenly Father knew back then just how far-reaching and extensive this online phenomenon would become! Don’t ever doubt His reach, his ability OR His Love to those He calls His children!

Dearest Father in Heaven, there isn’t a second that goes by that You don’t deserve our Praise or Exaltation, yet Father we Praise You and Glorify You not just because You deserve it but because we love You and recognize your Majesty and Glory. You ARE worthy of or Praise and You alone ARE worthy of our Exaltation and we lift our hearts AND our spirits to You in Praise and we are in AWE at Your Majesty!

Father, we recognize and realize we don’t Praise you enough and yet we are aware that Your Love for us is none-the-less for us and towards us and in fact Your love seems to grow even more each and every day. We know that is just our perception, but we know from Your Word that Your love is sure and it is True. We so thank You for what You do for us and for what You give us on a daily basis and I lift my heart to You and ask You to cause us to Love You more and more for WHO You are and not just for what You do for us. You deserve so much more from us, help us, cause us, instill in us the desire and the ability to let praise for You be continually upon our hearts, spirit and lips as we go through each and every day!

Your will for us is perfect in love and it only takes a little for us to see that perfection transform our lives into the children You desire us to be. We long to be in Your presence, we long for Your ways to be the ways of all people and we long for all people to know, feel and see Your love in its truest and most perfect form.

Dearest Heavenly Father, continue to create in each and every one of our hearts and in our spirits the people You want us to be, toward You and toward each other, with the same kind of Love, Kindness, Compassion, Mercy, Forbearance, care etc., that Your Son, Christ Jesus demonstrated when He walked this earth with His disciples, Your children! Cause that love to continue to build us into the Church, the Bride that You would have us be and to be able to give love unselfishly to one another with no strings attached. We have so far to go, but with Your Holy Spirit, we KNOW that there is NOTHING impossible at all within You, and in each of us You can accomplish anything, anything at all!!

Dearest and Exalted Majesty, cause that love to bind us together in the spiritual unity and oneness that exemplifies Your Glory and Your Love! Cause that unity, that bond to be a light to each and every one that we come into contact with, whether family or stranger or acquaintance. Let Your light shine through us that Christ Jesus can and will be lifted up and that others will see Christ without doubt and not ourselves personally. May You receive ALL Glory and Praise because of the Love that You instill in us through Your Holiest Spirit!

Father of Lights, illuminate our inner hearts and minds to see those mistakes, transgressions and sins that we may have committed to our brothers and sisters, whether intentional or through ignorance unknowingly. Forgive us for those sins and selfish actions and restore us to that place that You desire us to be in, a spirit of unity in a bond of peace. Cause us to be One in You as You wash us in the Blood sacrifice of Your Son, our Redeemer Jesus Christ.

And Father, cause us to forgive those brothers and sisters that have transgressed or sinned against us and help us to make a conscious effort to bring peace and unity back into our spiritual family through the Fruit of Your Holy Spirit as we ACT accordingly toward one another; With Love, with Peace, with Joy, with Patience, etc., for we know that walking and living the spiritual life You would have us live in the service of one another is action and not just based on how any one of us might be feeling. We know that serving You and one another is a movement forward, closer and closer toward You, through Christ Jesus until that day when we truly are One in Him, as He brings us into Your presence!

Dearest and Loving Father, we all make mistakes, we all “miss the mark” and as Your Word tells us there “is none good, no not one.” Forgive us for those shortcomings and outright sinfulness and help us, cause us, to forgive the same in one another and help us to remember that our example, our guidance is the example set by Your Son, our Master and Lord! Help us and cause us to be just like Him, ever more as each day goes by until that day when “He which is perfect returns” for each of us! May He find us “practicing” a life of righteousness, a life of true agape love, a life of unselfish service to You and to one another.

Father, in these online groups and ministries, create in us a unity and a love that will astound others and be a light on this internet for others to emulate and follow. Bless each and every ministry that is being guided by Your Holy Spirit in the direction that You are leading and strengthen each and every Brother, Sister, Leader and Member and each ministry that each individual entails so that we might not falter when times get a little tough and when the storms of the world order and the enemy try and buffet us about. Cause us to find that strength in Your presence, in Your Joy, but also in one another and as Your Apostle Paul said in Galatians, “let us bear one another’s burdens” just as Christ bears ours. Continue to help us, to teach us to DEMONSTRATE our love, even in a “virtual” environment like this that You have led each of us too. Help us to remember that behind every keystroke and every word, is a real life, a very real spiritual brother or sister that isn’t complete and can’t be complete without each and every other one of us to help make them complete in You!

For all these requests mentioned and dearest Father for so many more that come to the hearts, minds and spirits of those reading this prayer may you meet those needs in Your will as we come together in spiritual unity and agreement. So many of us may be physically disabled, but help each and every one to see that we are NOT spiritually disabled even the slightest when we stand in unison and agreement in YOU! Help each of us to remember that these bodies are decaying anyone, but it is the spirit that will live on. Your Word tells us, “what we see is temporary, what we don’t see, is eternal.”

Now I pray that You would graciously and lovingly bless each and every member of Your Body who visits and benefits from online ministries. Bless each family involved and bless each ministry of service that we offer in remembrance of You and Your love. Cause my Brothers and Sisters to be lifted up so that each light might shine brightly from them as they serve You and each other in ministry, illuminating each area that they are involved in and allowing the Light of Christ to shine forth even more brilliant than the sun! May You continue to be Glorified and Magnified in our Love for not only You but for one another as well, a true, eternal Love based in Your Spirit and Your Truth and not in any earthly wisdom. Your Church was once recognized by the love they showed one another; help us to redeem that character, that attribute among ourselves.

I ask (for myself and my brothers and sisters) all these things, and I give You all the Praise and Glory and Exaltation that You deserve and is rightly Yours, by the authority that You have given to each of us in the Name of Your Son, our Redeemer, Christ Jesus!!

Amen & Amen!!

Given sincerely from the heart with Christ’s Love;

Pastor Roland (originally 2010)
