The REAL Gift of Christmas

John 1:1-4, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”

RELATIONSHIP!

I could end this little commentary right here. But I won’t.

God created us in His IMAGE/LIKENESS to have a relationship with Him just as He has with the Word. When the Father sent the Word, His Son, into the world in the form and image of mankind, it was to restore what His whole intent and purpose was in creating mankind in the very first place, to have a relationship with His Creation.

You may argue and say it was to “SAVE” us and redeem us. The truth is, those are the avenues, the tools He used in His vast wisdom to bring to us into a relationship. The Angel told Mary as was prophesied:

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” – Matthew 1:23.

This was the true key to why Jesus Christ, All-God and yet, All-Man was born into this world.

With all the seasonal hoopla that goes on during this time of year, INCLUDING the “religious” hoopla, do not forget the SPIRITUAL reason behind the Birth of our Savior. To bring us, in His fulfilled mission to a place where we can KNOW and RELATE to God, Almighty, our Creator and Father!

Remember the words of Jesus Himself; meditate and contemplate them and let them become a part of your very being, your very life:

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” – John 14:6-10.

This is the very reason why the enemy of our souls targets relationships. If he can destroy relationships, then what are the chances of you ever having a relationship with our very Creator?

This Christmas season, I implore you to seek the ULTIMATE relationship, the one that is the very reason for your being, and the One in which any and all relationships will succeed. Jesus IS the reason for the Season, but the purpose of His coming within this Season is to have a relationship with God Almighty our Heavenly Father through which all other successful relationships shall flow.

May you all experience the joys, the wonders, the awesomeness of having a relationship with the ONE Who created you solely out of His love for who you can be!

Merry Christmas!!!
