I heard it again. Boy, do I hate hearing this. I am astounded and amazed all the time at how the world and those who love this world think they have all the answers and their answers are wiser than even the Creator’s!

“A loving God would NEVER send anyone to hell, even IF there was one!” Yeah, I will just say this was stated by an unnamed “Christian” celebrity. I love how people in all walks of life and all states of living lives of blatant sin are quick to call themselves “Christian” without even an acknowledgement to Christ Jesus in which being a true Christian is predicated upon! Oh, they might mention Jesus, you know, that great prophet and teacher, but NOT the Anointed One of God, the Messiah! If you ask them about what the term Christ means, they are quick to give you that blank stare!

This might sound like a rant starting out, but — okay, yeah, maybe a little bit, but it really got me to thinking. How can I put this so the average person could comprehend and then this little scenario popped into my mind:

We live in this particular town, or community; let’s just call it Terra for convenience sake. It can be as large or as small as your imagination wants it to be. Now, cue the theme to the Twilight Zone; got it? Now the voice-over:

“Picture two men, after living in this town for many years, now ready to leave for what they assume is a better town or country. At the train ticket counter, two tickets and they are about to enter the . . .”

I know those of you old enough to remember, heard Rod Serling in your head! But this isn’t an episode of that classic, beloved series. No, this is setting up a scenario in which to explain God’s plan for mankind’s eternal destination.

Two men going to the train station to pick up tickets. Both men comparably the same as to wealth, health and personality. There are only two destinations out of this town, Terra, that they have been living in all their lives. They have only heard that there are two destinations and just maybe, they have an idea of each, but neither knows what the towns they are heading too truly are like. They are both hoping for something better. They have lived their lives and they are looking forward to some peace and rest from the turmoil of this big town they are leaving.

The first man, wants a ticket to the train going to the right, just to make a distinction in destination. He’s weary, but confident. He approaches the ticket counter and states his name. “I’m told there is a ticket left here for me, I want to go to the Right town. How much do I owe?”

“Oh, Mr. Right, no charge. The ticket has been paid in full and you have first class, express accommodations. There’s nothing to pay or do but relax on your journey.”

The ticket agent hands him the paid ticket and Mr. Right states, “Everybody said it was too good to be true, that what I was told all I would have to do is collect my ticket and that it was paid for already, but I kept telling them that I just had to keep believing it. The people telling me this kept saying our Benefactor had paid for everyone and all we had to do is ask for it! I never doubted! I continued to hear about this Benefactor and I just KNEW it was for a good reason!”

“Have a great journey Mr. Right and enjoy your new home!” The ticket agent smiles as Mr. Right boards the train taking him Right. “Next,” he says!

As Mr. Left approaches, he smiles and asks, “Can I help you?”

“Yes, I want a ticket but I don’t have a lot I can pay, where will it take me?” states Mr. Left.

“Well, I still have some free tickets to the town on the Right. They’ve already been paid for. The thing is, once you choose there are no refunds or changing your mind.” The agent smiles.

“Nothing in this life is free! Don’t con me. I just need to get out of this town. I’ll pay my own way! I’ve never been beholden to anyone in my life and I’m not going to start now!” Mr. Left was saying as the anger and bitterness started swelling in his voice.

“There’s only one destination Left, if you insist on paying for it yourself. It’s not the best place to live your life. The town that’s Left was never really built for the people of Terra. I tell you, it’s a rough place. The Right place is free, you just have to take the ticket.” You could almost hear the pleading in the agent’s voice.

“I’ve made my own way all my life and there’s a gimmick behind every ‘free’ gift, so give me my ticket to what’s Left and let me be on my way,” glared Mr. Left. The agent could see that he was adamant and so with reluctance the agent handed over the ticket to what was Left.

I’m not going to tell you what is awaiting either man. I’m going to tell you this. They were both offered FREE tickets, free to them, and unbeknownst to them paid for with a heavy price. The one man did all that was necessary for him to get the free ticket; he reached out and took it and journeyed Right.

The other man could’ve had a free ticket to go Right, but instead, out of pride, doubt, suspicion and being misinformed, he CHOSE to ignore the free ticket and instead figured he had enough to pay for it himself and ended up only being able to afford what’s Left.

Two choices are given to every man. The choice to go Right, or the choice to take what’s Left. The key to this life we live is just that, YOUR choice. God, our Heavenly Father and Creator is looking for a relationship with His Creation that is voluntary and of our own choosing. He has made a way in which our sinful nature can be Redeemed and Renewed (reborn) into a new Spiritual life. Our Heavenly Father IS Spirit. We can only relate to Him in Spirit and Truth. (John 4:24). The only way we can have that intimate relationship is with a reborn, renewed spirit within us, THROUGH Christ Jesus, The Son of God, the One who paid our penalty in FULL!

God does NOT send anyone to hell! Hell was not a place MEANT for mankind, but for the rebellious fallen angels!

“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.”

“By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; . .” – 2 Peter 2:1-4.

Throughout the WHOLE Bible, it is shown by example what the Apostle Peter continued to write in the next chapter, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9.

Again, there IS a place of darkness where no light will ever shine, where the Love of God will NEVER be felt, even in the minutest amount. For that is the place that God will ALLOW those who CHOOSE to reject His Free GIFT to go. It is each and every individual’s free choice to go to the right or to what’s left. You can deny it all you want, you can say it is not real, but what IF you ARE wrong? Again, it IS your choice!

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” – Matthew 7:13-14.

The narrow gate is what’s Right; it’s difficult and few find it, and the broad way is what’s Left and leads to destruction. Which direction will YOU travel?
