Psalm 96:2 Prayer – PatientlyHopeful

body ministry prayer praise header

*Pastor’s Note: Prayer and Praise; what better way to worship the Lord than commune with Him in thanksgiving, confession, adoration and supplication. I have just started following Sister Hope’s site, PatientlyHopeful a little while ago and I have been blessed by her compassion and sensitivity. The following is just one example of that.

Also, please stop by and let her know you appreciate giving of herself in ministry for us as well as for the Lord. She has more than just prayers on her site and if you visit, you will be extremely blessed AND encouraged!

PatientlyHopeful – Hope

patiently hopeful ps 96_2Today’s prayer:

Psalm 96:2 KJV — Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your salvation! Thank You for Your wonderous works. Your name is high above all names and Your ways are perfect. Lord, please help me to sing Your praises throughout my day, loving as a testimony to Your salvation and truth. Lord, let Your light reflect off of my life, that others might find encouragement and understanding in Your Word, accepting You as Lord and Savior. Jesus, I need You every day, to speak in my life through Your Word and guide through Your Holy Spirit. Lord, I am leaning upon You this day for all my needs and trusting You in all things. Lord, Your ways are perfect and Your truth is amazing! May my lips never cease from praising You nor telling of Your gift to those who would pick up their cross and follow You! I love You, Jesus. Amen.

Daily Prayer & Praise 6/30/2022

Prayer for Thursday 6-30-2022

Lord our God, we thank You for Your Word, which is light and strength to us. We thank You for all You give us and have given us. We thank You that we may be counted among the simple-hearted, among the children. We do not want to be anything great in the world. We want only to be with You as Your children, helpless little children, watched over and dependent wholly on You, the Creator and Father of all. Grant us Your blessing. Help us in all that is good and right, also in our daily work, so that we can be Your children and do what You have commanded. May Your name be honored and glorified at all times, Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread and the needs You know so well. Forgive us the wrong we have done as we forgive those who have wronged us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever. In Jesus’ almighty and glorious name.

Amen.

Blood As Fertilizer

Blood is a rare fertilizer. They tell me that the bit of ground over in Belgium called Waterloo bears each spring a crop of rare blue forget-me-nots. That bit of ground had very unusual gardening. Ploughed up by cannon and gunshot, sown deep with men’s lives, “worked” ever so thoroughly by toiling, struggling feet, moistened with the gentle rain of dying tears, and soaked with red life, it now yields its yearly harvest of beauty.

For it is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life. – Leviticus 17:14

Do It Now – Oswald Chambers

thought of day header

For Thursday June 30, 2022:

DO IT NOW

Matthew 5:25 (NKJV)
“Agree with your adversary quickly.”

Jesus Christ is laying down this principle—Do what you know you must do, now, and do it quickly; if you do not, the inevitable process will begin to work and you will have to pay to the last farthing in pain and agony and distress. God’s laws are unalterable; there is no escape from them. The teaching of Jesus goes straight to the way we are made up.

To see that my adversary gives me my rights is natural; but Jesus says that it is a matter of eternal and imperative importance to me that I pay my adversary what I owe him. From our Lord’s standpoint it does not matter whether I am defrauded or not; what does matter is that I do not defraud. Am I insisting on my rights, or am I paying what I owe from Jesus Christ’s standpoint?

Do the thing quickly, bring yourself to judgment now. In moral and spiritual matters, you must do it at once; if you do not, the inexorable process will begin to work. God is determined to have His child as pure and clean and white as driven snow, and as long as there is disobedience in any point of His teaching, He will prevent none of the working of His spirit. Our insistence in proving that we are right is nearly always an indication that there has been some point of disobedience. No wonder the Spirit so strongly urges to keep steadfastly in the light!

“Agree with thine adversary quickly.” Have you suddenly turned a corner in any relationship and found that you had anger in your heart? Confess it quickly, quickly put it right before God, be reconciled to that one—do it now.

God’s Cup Is Brimming ~

*Pastor’s Note: Do you feel your spiritual cup is overflowing with the unfailing blessings of our God? Here’s another great poem by Sister Deborah Ann Belka from her site, CHRISTian Poetry about God’s unfailing love and compassion to His children.

As always, please stop by her site and let her know you appreciate her service to the Body of Christ. You’ll be extremely blessed, inspired and encouraged!

CHRISTian Poetry by Deborah Ann

dab gods cup is brimming

God’s cup is brimming,
with His mercies and grace . .
He desires nothing more
than to see us finish the race.

So He gives us strength,
whenever ours is weak
keeping us humble
so we may remain meek.

He renews our faith,
so like eagles we’ll soar
in storms He helps us
to rise over the roar.

His anger is slow,
as we stumble along
His love is steadfast
to keep our trust strong.

He forgives and forgets,
our sins and our shame
He provides salvation
to all who call on His name.

God’s cup is brimming,
with compassion and favor
so He sent His own Son . . .
to be our personal Savior!

~~~~~~~~
Lamentations 3:22-23
It is of the Lord’s mercies
that we are not consumed,
because his compassion’s fail not.
They are new every morning:
great is thy faithfulness.
Daily Prayer & Praise 6/29/2022
Prayer for Wednesday 6-29-2022
Lord God, we glorify and magnify Your holy name. How we wish our voices could ring out over all the world, telling of the great things You have done for us, praising You that we can come to You in Jesus Christ, that we can worship, honor, and thank You for all Your awesome goodness! Safeguard all Your children so that they hold to faith and remain true to the message of the gospel. May we thank and praise You for all You have done this day and every day and for Your working in the hearts of many people who are still unknown to us. Your Spirit rules and calls people, to bring them to You, as our Father in Heaven. Watch over us and continue to bless us. Help us who belong to You as Your people, and protect us through the night. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
Mankind’s Greatest Debt
Winston Churchill paid a great tribute to the young men in the Royal Air Force who guarded England during the war, saying, “Never in the history of mankind have so many owed so much to so few.”
The Battle of Bastogne represents one of the bloodiest action in World War II. A monument there pays tribute to the heroism of the US 101st Airborne Division: “Seldom has so much American blood been shed in the course of a single action. Oh, Lord, help us to remember!”
But when thinking of the cross of Christ, we can say: “Never in the history of the universe has mankind owed so much to One.”
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. – John 3:16-17
John 14:17 – A.B. Simpson
thought of day header
For Wednesday June 29, 2022:
JOHN 14:17
John 14:17 (NKJV)
“He dwells with you and will be in you.”
Do not fail to mark these two stages in Christian life. The one is the Spirit’s work in us, the other is the Spirit’s personal coming to abide within us. All true Christians know the first, but few, it is to be feared, understand and receive the second. There is a great difference between my building a house and my going to reside in that house and make it my home. And there is a great difference between the Holy Spirit’s work in regenerating a soul—the building of a house, and His coming to reside, abide and control in our innermost spirit and our whole life and being.
Have we received Him Himself not as our Guest, but as the Owner, Proprietor and Keeper of the temple He has built to be “an habitation of God through the Spirit”?
This is my wonderful story,
   Christ to my heart has come,
Jesus the King of glory,
   Finds in my heart a home.
I am so glad I received Him,
   Jesus, my heart’s dear King,
I, who so often have grieved Him,
   All to His feet would bring.
Daily Prayer & Praise 6/28/2022
Prayer for Tuesday 6-28-2022
Lord God, we thank You for all You reveal in Your creation so that our lives may be fruitful. Reveal Your wisdom and strength among people everywhere so that death and destruction do not have their way, but Your will, Your love, Your mercy and grace shall prevail. Let our age learn that power belongs to You, that You are Sovereign and not men, and that You will at last fulfill all Your promises of good. Your day of justice and holiness will break in, and all misery will be removed through Your great mercy. Watch over us as You have done till this hour, and keep us safe during the night. Be present and carry out Your perfect will wherever there is misfortune. May Your perfect will and plans be done on earth as they are in Heaven. We come to You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Redeemer.
Amen.
London’s “The Cross”
The geographical heart of London is Charing Cross. All distances are measured from it. This spot is referred to simply as “the cross.” A lost child was one day picked up by a London “bobby”. The child was unable to tell where he lived. Finally, in response to the repeated questions of the bobby, and amid sobs and tears, the little fellow said, “If you will take me to the cross I think I can find my way from there.”
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 19:14
Prayer – The Forerunner of Mercy – C.H. Spurgeon
thought of day header
For Tuesday June 28, 2022:
PRAYER – THE FORERUNNER OF MERCY
Ezekiel 36:37 (NKJV)
Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this
for them: I will increase their men like a flock.”
First, I enquire what the promise is. I turn to my Bible, and I seek to find the promise whereby the thing which I desire to seek is certified to me as being a thing which God is willing to give. Having enquired so far as that, I take that promise, and on my bended knees I enquire of God whether he will fulfil his own promise. I take to him his own word of covenant, and I say to him, “O Lord, wilt thou not fulfil it, and wilt thou not fulfil it now?” So that there, again, prayer is enquiry. After prayer I look out for the answer; I expect to be heard; and if I am not answered I pray again, and my repeated prayers are but fresh enquiries. I expect the blessing to arrive; I go and enquire whether there is any tidings of its coming. I ask; and thus I say, “Wilt thou answer me, O Lord? Wilt thou keep thy promise. Or wilt thou shut up thine ear, because I misunderstand my own wants and mistake thy promise?” Brethren, we must use enquiry in prayer, and regard prayer as being, first, an enquiry for the promise, and then on the strength of that promise an enquiry for the fulfilment. We expect something to come as a present from a friend: we first have the note, whereby we are informed it is upon the road. We enquire as to what the present is by the reading of the note; and then, if it arrive not, we call at the accustomed place where the parcel ought to have been left, and we ask or enquire for such and such a thing. We have enquired about the promise, and then we go and enquire again, until we get an answer that the promised gift has arrived and is ours. So with prayer.
Daily Prayer & Praise 6/27/2022
Prayer for Monday 6-27-2022
Lord God, help us to be holy as You are holy, and free us from all the earthly things that try to torment us. Grant us Your Spirit so that we do what is right. May we always hold Your hand confidently. Protect Your children everywhere on earth, and help them do what is right even if the whole world does what is wrong. Help us, so that all we do become holy and pleasing in Your sight. Let Your grace grow among us and among the nations, and let Your hand be strong to bring in Your day, Your day when everything is made new. May Your name be kept holy, Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Just as Jesus told us to pray, we pray in His precious name.
Amen.
Nothing But The Blood
At a great parliament of religions, held in Chicago many years ago, practically every known religion was represented.
During one session, Dr. Joseph Cook, of Boston, suddenly rose and said: “Gentlemen, I beg to introduce to you a woman with a great sorrow. Bloodstains are on her hands, and nothing she has tried will remove them. The blood is that of murder. She has been driven to desperation in her distress. Is there anything in your religion that will remove her sin and give her peace?” A hush fell upon the gathering. Not one of the company replied.
Raising his eyes heavenwards, Dr. Cook then cried out, “John, can you tell this woman how to get rid of her awful sin?” The great preacher waited, as if listening for a reply. Suddenly he cried, “Listen. John speaks: ‘The blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanseth us from all sins’ (1 John 1:7).”
Not a soul broke the silence: the representatives of Eastern religions and Western cults sat dumb. In the face of human need, the Gospel of Jesus Christ alone could meet the need. The sin of the race demanded the blood of Calvary.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” – Revelation 12:11
This Is Our Jesus – A.W. Tozer
thought of day header
For Monday June 27, 2022:
THIS IS OUR JESUS
Philippians 2:10-11 (NKJV)
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those
on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
When the prophets try to describe for me the attributes, the graces, the worthiness of the God who appeared to them and dealt with them, I feel that I can kneel down and follow their admonition: “He is thy Lord—worship thou Him.”
He is fair and He is kingly, yet He is gracious in a sense that takes nothing away from His majesty.
He is meek, but it is the kind of meekness that likewise takes nothing away from His majesty. . . .
The meekness was His humanity. The majesty was His deity. You find them everlastingly united in Him. So meek that he nursed at His mother’s breast, cried like any baby and needed all the human care that every child needs.
But He was also God, and in His majesty He stood before Herod and before Pilate. When He returns, coming down from the sky, it will be in His majesty, the majesty of God. Yet it will also be in the majesty of the Man who is God.
This is our Lord Jesus Christ. Before His foes, He stands in majesty. Before His friends, He comes in meekness.
