I personally want to thank each and every one who is willing to give of themselves to pray for others and many times for complete strangers. The Bible tells us that “there is no greater love than when someone is willing to lay down their lives for another,” and for so many years we have always associated that statement with dying for another. But, isn’t putting your life aside for someone else the same as “dying to yourself” just so that someone else might benefit from your time? I believe that when you lay your life aside for others, setting the time you would be doing something else, you are doing just that, laying your life down for another, and what better activity than communing with our Heavenly Father and interceding for a complete stranger as intercessory prayer happens to be in most cases? So to all who are active in the power of prayer, thank you, for you are truly Prayer Warriors.
Some Scriptures on the Importance of Prayer:
Luke 18:1, Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
Luke 21:36, “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass,”
Romans 12:12-13, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints,
Ephesians 6:18, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints
Colossians 4:2, Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
1Thessalonians 5:17-18, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
James 5:13-15, Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
