The oppressed will not always be forgotten;
the hope of the afflicted will not perish forever.

PSALM 9:18

Billy Graham

First, we are reminded of the
mystery and reality of evil. I have
been asked hundreds of times in
my life why God allows tragedy
and suffering. I have to confess
that I really don’t know the
answer totally, even to my own
satisfaction. I have to ACCEPT BY
FAITH that God is SOVEREIGN, and
He’s a God of LOVE and MERCY
and COMPASSION in the midst
of suffering.

(Given in an address after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks)
