Lord, hear our prayer:

Lord, there are so many obstacles that we bring to worship: the hurt and anger we feel within us, the worries and concerns that fill our minds, our awareness that life and our lives are being changed, painful memories of the past that still cause us anguish even now, the uncertainty and bleakness of our tomorrows, the emptiness, sorrow and doubt that fill our lives today. We do not find it easy to keep Christ at the center, but open our eyes, Lord; we want to see Jesus.

Amen.
