Pastor’s Note: God does NOT change and neither does the spirit of His Word. It is living and still relevant for each and every one of us today. With that thought in mind, remember the Prophetic words given by God’s Prophets and Teachers. The words STILL ring true! Do not be fooled into believing God’s Words and warnings were or are only for the children of Israel in ancient history.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-21, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” KNJV (Bold emphasis, added).
P.S. The following is a prophetic word that stands the test of time. Though it was given to Ezekiel for a specific circumstance, it is a Spiritual Principle that God also gave to us for posterity. You cannot separate the truth of this Word from mankind just because it was given “way back when.” You will find the principle behind this all throughout Scripture, both Old Testament and New Testament. If you are a Christian today, then it has become part of our duty to be a Watchman not just for our Brothers and Sisters, but for the world in general. Eternal souls and well-being is at stake!
Remember one thing; this is a prophecy of warning, true, but it is also a message of hope to all those that listen to the alarms of the watchmen and take heed to the truths that they speak. God ALWAYS reveals to His servants what is instore and what they have to do to continue to walk in His Word and His righteousness.
Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets. – Amos 3:7.
The Lord says, “Give the people this message: You are saying, ‘Our sins are heavy upon us; we are wasting away! How can we survive?’ As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, Oh people! Why should you die?”
“Give the people this message: The righteous behavior of righteous people will not save them if they turn to sin, nor will the wicked behavior of wicked people destroy them if they repent and turn from their sins. When I tell righteous people that they will live, but then they sin, expecting their past righteousness to save them, then none of their righteous acts will be remembered. I will destroy them for their sins. And suppose I tell some wicked people that they will surely die, but then they turn from their sins and do what is just and right. For instance, return what they have stolen, start to walk in righteousness and obey my life-giving commandments, no longer doing what is evil. If they do this, then they will surely live and not die. None of their past sins will be brought up again, for they have done what is just and right, and they will surely live.”
“The people are saying, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right,’ but it is they who are not doing what’s right. For again I say, when righteous people turn away from their righteous behavior and turn to evil, they will die. But if wicked people turn from their wickedness and do what is just and right, they will live. Oh people, you are saying, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right.’ But I judge each of you according to your deeds.”
Thus says the Sovereign Lord!
