A New Week – Let Us Pray! 5/15/2022

*Pastor’s Note: This was actually what the Lord gave me last Monday and I posted it on a social media group I belong too that posts prayers. I thought this would be fitting for today at the start of a new week as this was something I believe the Holy Spirit laid on my heart to share. Sunday is ALWAYS a good day to share a prayer for the coming week, whether mine or someone else’s, as they all come from a sincere heart and the direction of the Holy Spirit!

1 Thessalonians 5:15b – 18, “Always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (NKJV) [Bold emphasis mine].

Dearest Father in Heaven;

You are everything. You are all in all and You are in everything. You are Almighty AND Holy, righteous and just and we praise You with all that we are. Be glorified in our lives, not just for Your own sake, but for the sake of Your Son, our Redeemer, Christ Jesus.

As we start a new week dear Lord, we look to You for guidance. Lead us in the directions You would have us to go to be Your vessels so that others might see and know of Your goodness, mercy and grace. Use us as the vessels You created us to be. We surrender our all to You, and if we are even a bit hesitant, give us the strength and the discernment to see we need to surrender our ALL to Your perfect will.

As we go through our perspective week and the duties this week entails, be with us in courage, steadfastness and strength. Allow us to walk forward in confidence, assurance and peace that comes only from You and following Your Holy Spirit. Anoint us to truly BE Your children. Let Your light shine through each and every one of us so that others may see YOUR glory and the glory of Your light in us will blind others to our flaws so they see only You!

Father, we lift up our families, our loved ones, our neighbors and friends to You. Protect them, bless them as they walk in You. For those we love that are lost, dearest Father we lift them up to You and ask You to save them. Draw them to You and if You are willing to use us to be the vessel that does the drawing, give us Your Holy wisdom and discernment to know what to say and when to say it.

For our leaders, we lift them up to You for salvation, wisdom and direction. Your Word tells us You are the One that raises and deposes rulers. We know You have plans that are ultimately for the good of Your children and we trust You in that though we might not see the course or direction You are taking. We cry out to You that we might be a Nation, once again, where the majority looks to You. But You know what is and what will be. Whatever comes, You will ALWAYS be our Lord and our God and we find our refuge, strength and assurance in You and You alone.

Father, as Your Son instructed, we look to You, we trust You, we ask for Your forgiveness in our wrongdoing and misdeeds and ask that You forgive others. We ask these things of You, and we will continue to praise You above all else, in the name of our Savior, Redeemer and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Amen and AMEN!
