Prayer To Let Our Light Shine

*Pastor’s Note: This was inspired by the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 5 verse 16. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (NASB)

Heavenly Father,

We acknowledge that You are in control of all things and that throughout the ages and even now You alone are Sovereign and that You reign not just in the Heavens but also within our hearts. You alone Lord are worthy of our praise, worship and exultation. Your glory is from everlasting to everlasting!

We thank You that You shine Your light through us most especially in any and all circumstances in which we find ourselves. We are to let our lights shine before others that they may see our good works and glorify You in heaven. Let us never forget we are the light of the world. It is our desire to shine brightly before others, allowing our attitude, words, and actions to reflect the values of Jesus. We will carry the light of Your salvation through our words, our actions, and the way in which we seek to be fruitful producing only good fruit where we are planted.

We want our lives to be a testimony to Your goodness. We pray that You would use us to spread light to those in need, and that all our good deeds and works will glorify You. Father, in Your infinite wisdom You give us daily strength and spiritual resolve to carry on in the darkest of circumstances so that the light of Christ might be made manifest in our lives for others to see. Continue to strengthen us I pray.

It’s in Jesus’ name that we pray. Amen and AMEN!
