Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
It is so easy to be discouraged and even perplexed when we look around us in this day and age. What was prophesied long ago in the Word of God is unfolding right before our eyes and many of us didn’t think we would live to see such BLATANT corruption and outright wickedness. But God’s Word is always true as promised.
We need to remember though that these things HAVE to take place according to prophecy for God’s end-time plans to be fulfilled. Remember, He warned His children out of love and compassion for them and with longsuffering is thinking about the lost. We don’t need to agree or like what is going on around us for sin is abhorrent to God and thus it should be to followers of Christ Jesus as well. BUT, we need to understand though our Lord hates the actions of sin, He still loves His creation and as the Word reminds us, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9.
Yes, I have been quoting this a lot lately, but we need to be reminded over and over again that if the Lord loves like this, even for the lost, shouldn’t we, as TRUE followers of Christ be the same way. The greatest act of love we can show to the lost is to fervently and earnestly pray for their salvation. Yes, we know that many, many will choose to take that broad path leading to destruction, the easy route, but each and every soul won to the Kingdom of God is precious beyond gold or silver!
Don’t forget that the Father has promised with these words:
“For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” – Hebrews 13:5b-6.
Yes, we are going to continue to see corruption and wickedness around us, but remember, we are in this world, but we are not OF it (John 17:11-16) and that should give us a great amount of peace and comfort. So pray for those around you, your Brothers and Sisters in Christ, but the lost and fallen as well. Demonstrate your love for the Lord and others by interceding for the lost.
Do not be dismayed or perplexed, but stay vigilant for the signs are telling us that our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus is coming back very, very soon. So be encouraged as Luke reminds us in his Gospel:
“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” – Luke 21:28.
So saints, my word to you today is be blessed, but be encouraged in the Lord. He is STILL sitting on His throne and STILL our Sovereign Lord and King!
