Prayer For God’s Perfect Will

Father in Heaven;

Almighty and Exalted Heavenly Father, we praise You for your majesty and glory. You are awesome above all things, on earth and in Heaven! You are worthy of our praise and our worship for there is nothing that escapes Your view and nothing that You cannot do in the earth!

We repent of the fact that there are times when we take Your Presence and Sovereignty for granted. We forget at times, in our everyday lives that You are always in control of ALL situations that go on around us. Sometimes, it is sad to say, it takes something serious to awaken us out of our lethargy. This does not glorify You in our lives when we allow this to happen.

However, Lord, we also know that as a loving Father, You take into consideration our weaknesses and are always quick to allow Your Holy Spirit to direct our hearts and thoughts Heavenward back to Your Throne. We give You praise for Your continued love towards each of us and honor You in those acts of service towards You and those around us.

Loving Father, we pray for Your perfect will and that it be accomplished in ALL the world. We may not know the specifics of Your will, but we DO know that You are ALWAYS in control and that what You do have planned is perfect in wisdom and execution. Help us as Your children to have courage in faith for whatever You have in store for your creation, no matter the direction it seems to go. We know that You are and always have been a holy, just and righteous God in all that You are and in all that You do in the earth!

You dear Father have been amazingly longsuffering and as Your Apostle Peter stated, You desire that none should perish but that all come to a saving knowledge. We also know that You will NEVER force You perfect will upon anyone, but that in Your wisdom, You allow all men to make a choice as to whether they will surrender to You or live according to their own “wisdom.” We KNOW this is the absolute evidence of Your unconditional and unfailing love.

With that knowledge in mind, we do ask that You would allow the Holy Spirit to open the spiritual eyes of our fellow man that they may make an informed decision. You know those who WILL choose You and those who WILL reject You and yet, You still give them that ability. We pray for a Holy Spirit anointed revival before You judge those who have outright rejected You, Your values and principles. We know that You must abide by Your Word for Your Word cannot nor does it ever change.

We pray for one another, our Brothers and Sisters, in the realization that while You allow mankind to feel the shame of their sin and guilt, and that while it rains AND shines on the just and the unjust, that You continue to shield us from Your wrath as we abide in Your Son, Jesus Christ. Allow the comfort of Your Holy Spirit to continue to assure Your children of Your love for each of us individually and give us the courage of faith to not waver even a little while Your plans for all unfold before our eyes.

Help us, Your children, those who truly ARE called by Your Name, to stay strong in You and in the hope of Your Redemption. You ARE and always have been our Rock and our Fortress, our place of safety and salvation! We know we may suffer some inconveniences as Your plans unfold, but that You will ALWAYS care for those who walk and live in righteousness in Christ Jesus!

Father we also ask that You continue to speak to us and to lead and guide us by Your Holy Spirit. We ARE Your TRUE Church, as opposed to the buildings and institutions that we frequent. A building does not hear Your voice or follow Your leading, but Your Church does. Give us the faith to know when to stand and the faith to know when to move. We do NOT want to move EXCEPT in direct obedience to Your Spirit!

Human nature is hard to fight at times and desires us to obey the fleshy urge to do something when Your Spirit within each of us is telling us to stand and witness the Glory of an Almighty God! We know it takes faith to walk in the Spirit! But we also know that it is that very faith that is pleasing to You as Heavenly Father.

Dearest Father, forgive us of those sins and trespasses that we may have walked in unknowingly and in ignorance. Forgive us of those things that we fallen into temptation, whether it be actions or thoughts that are not pleasing to You. Please dear Father, forgive others who have trespassed against us also, that we might continue in absolute love towards those around us.

Father, we may not understand all that is going on around us and we know that we are bombarded with falsehoods and hidden agendas that are not pleasing to You, and yet our faith, our security, our comfort and even our lives are not reliant upon those things coming at us or vying for our allegiance. Our hope and security is in You and You alone! Help us to be able to give an answer of the hope that is within us if we are asked why we are calm while the rest of the world panics in abject fear.

We continue to look to You, dear Lord, for truly You ARE, the Author AND Finisher of our faith! Like the Living Water and the Bread of Life we partake of on a daily basis, help us to continue to prosper spiritually as our souls prosper. Let US, Your children, be Your glory to the world around us. Let the world see only YOU, in our lives and even more so as the days go by.

We ask all these things sincerely and fervently in the Name of our Savior and Redeemer, by the given authority of Your Son, Christ Jesus. To God ALWAYS be the Glory! Amen and AMEN!
