The Twist

For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ (Jude 4).

According to Jude, these ungodly men, these “false” teachers, pervert the grace of our God into debauchery. They also deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Even some of our modern churches today have these false (“ungodly”) teachers who “have stolen in” and are twisting the Bible’s teachings to justify their own opinions, lifestyles, or wrong behaviors. In doing this, they may gain temporary freedom to do as they wish, but they will discover that in distorting Scripture they are playing with fire. God will judge them for excusing, tolerating, and promoting sin. We must hold our teachers to the highest standards for the content that they teach. We must be ever vigilant in prayer and study of the Word.
