Lord, hear our prayer:

Father above, wise and glorious, when we look back on what you have done for us, we praise you not just for Jesus, but we praise you for Jesus’ parents, that they brought him to the temple. We thank you for everything that reminds us that our lives are a special gift from you. We praise you that whether we are young or old, single or married, we can still have the joy of belonging to your family. Forgive us when we do not make new people feel welcome, and when we only think of ourselves. Please forgive us and fill us with the love of Jesus.

Amen.
