Our Shield of Love

You, O Lord, are a shield around us;
You are our glory, the One who holds our head high.
We cry out to the Lord,
and He answers us from His holy mountain.
We lay down and sleep,
yet we wake up in safety,
for You O Lord are watching over us.
Victory comes from You alone, O Lord.
May You continue to bless Your people.

You can be sure of this:
The Lord set apart the godly for Himself.
The Lord will always answer when we call to Him.
Let Your face smile on us, Lord.
You have given us greater joy
than those who have great abundance.
In peace we will lie down and sleep,
for You alone, O Lord, will keep us safe.

Because of Your unfailing love, we can enter Your house;
We will worship at Your Temple with deepest awe.
Lead us in the right path, O Lord.
Let all who take refuge in You rejoice;
let us sing joyful praises to You forever.
Spread Your protection over us,
that all who love Your name may be filled with joy.
For You bless the godly, O Lord;
You alone surround us with Your Shield of Love.
