Lord, hear our prayer:

Lord, we praise you, the living God. We praise you, the God who is alive and the God who gives us life. We praise you for your acts for and on behalf of your people down the centuries and across the world; for the record of all you have said and done in the Scriptures; for all we can learn of you through the work of the Holy Spirit upon the pages of the Bible. We praise you for the truth we have received about Jesus Christ and his knowledge and love of the Scriptures; for the way they guided his life and ministry as your uniquely precious Son. We praise you in his name.

Amen.
