Prayer for The Empty Seat

*Pastor’s Note: For whatever reason, every Holiday there are loved ones not with us. Some have passed on, others are away from family and loved ones while serving others. Let us remember them in our prayers this Season.

pp 118 prayer for empty seat
Dear Lord;

Today we lift up the families who are going to have an empty seat at their Holiday table. Someone they love won’t be there, and their absence is undeniable, their presence longed for, and hearts broken by it. Some holidays, this pain is almost too much to bare, and this week is no exception. Oh, but Father, You see these families in their heartache, and You long to give comfort to their hearts and souls. In this empty seat at their table, I pray that You would fill it with Your presence and a peace that is rooted in Your very Character . . . Hope. Give these families hope as they anticipate the empty seat. And in that hope, please renew their strength.

In Jesus’ Precious Name we ask, Amen!
