When I Say That I’m A Christian

poeticpraisehdr

When I say that I’m a Christian
I’m not saying that I’m good
I’m telling you how bad I was
Until He shed His Blood.

When I say that I’m a Christian
I’m not boasting, I’m not proud
I now belong to Jesus
And I’m shouting it out loud.

When I say that I’m a Christian
It doesn’t mean I’m free of sin
But when He died upon the cross
My sins belonged to Him.

When I say that I’m a Christian
I may hold my head up high
But that’s because He gave me life
When I was doomed to die.

When I say that I’m a Christian
I’m not here to take a bow
I’m here to thank Lord Jesus
For the person I am now.
