*Pastor’s Note: The Bible tells us to be “holy as God is Holy” which sometimes stump a lot of people, and yes, I mean Christians. But it really depends on your view of God Almighty, our Heavenly Father, doesn’t it? When I was first saved and sitting in this little Pentecostal Church with nothing but Catholic experience behind me, I received a vision and believe it or not, it was a lot like Danny Hahlbohm’s artwork entitled “Welcome Home” that wasn’t released until 1984 and that vision was back in the mid-seventies. Long before I ever heard or knew of his work which he started about 1972. Before that time my view of God, the Father was of a stern God carrying a big stick and slapping it back and forth in His hand! What a change that made for me.
Well, here’s a great article from a writer I love. Sister Garielle Guthrie, and yes, her writing is witty, maybe a bit sarcastic at times, but boy does she know how to make a point. I really recommend you visit her site and see what else she has, but in the meantime, be blessed by this special gem from a couple of weeks ago!!

That title refers to an article in the NY Times byShalom Auslander, one that is causing a great deal of fuss all about the intertoobz. Let the record show, I kind of appreciated it!
It’s a bit snarky, hinging close to satire, and demonstrates a bit of lefty political bias, but overall I found myself nodding my head and even chuckling a few times. I appreciate his “passover” joke, talking about how we tend to remake God in our own image, an old testament God of wrath and irrational violence and how, “Perhaps we can stop extolling his brutality. Perhaps now is a good time to teach our children to pass over God — to be asunlikehim as possible.“
