What Is The Best Gift?

*Pastor’s Note: Here’s a wonderful exhortation on this Christmas Season by beautiful Sister-in-Christ, Kathy Boecher from A Time To Share. Please visit her site for more great articles, and don’t forget to pray for her ministry as she serves the Body of Christ as well as our Lord! God Bless!

This time of year often turns into a competition of buying the “best” gift or at least thinking we are.  Many beautifully wrapped packages appear beneath the tree, with anticipation running high and hopes building.  Unfortunately the focus of this most amazing season has taken a back seat to materialism and even though it’s meant as a means of sharing our love with someone, we have a gift that surpasses commercial items – toys, electronics, jewelry.  It is a gift that lasts a lifetime and beyond.  It’s one that can’t be returned.  It is given with no strings attached and it’s worth so much more than silver or gold.

Having been incapacitated for over a month, my gifts this Christmas will consist of many I.O.U.s,  I know those who know and love me, will understand, but I still have a wondrous gift I can share, even…

Thank you so much for sharing this, Roland and for the encouragement to carry on. There are times when I wonder if there is anyone out there that reads my stuff. We keep plugging away, because the Word is so precious and needs to be shared with everyone.

    • If I’ve learned anything Sister Kathy in the time I’ve been doing this AND ministering in public, God sends by His Holy Spirit just the one that needs a touch from those of us who remain faithful no matter the numbers. There are times, I admit, that I have to stand back and rest for maybe a week now and then, but I just have to keep pressing on no matter the statistics or number of comments. I imagine, Sis, you are the same way. This is why I encourage ANY who follow a post to pray for the ministry of the poster, for it IS a service to the Lord AND to His children. God Bless and though I don’t get by everyday, I will tell you there isn’t a week that goes by that I don’t try and catch up (as long as the health holds up 😉 ) Thank you for all you do, it IS appreciated!! Merry and Joyous Christmas Season, Sis!!!
