Brothers, Sisters, Family and Friends;
Well, I’ve been trying to get back in the groove after my bout of cancer. As many of you know, I have been fighting neck cancer since it was discovered back in March of 2020. What a month that was for everybody!
Since then I have had Chemo-therapy, radiation-therapy and just underwent neck surgery a couple of months ago. I can honestly say that thanks to the Lord, at this time I am cancer-free! We serve an awesome and truly amazing Heavenly Father, Who loves us with an unfailing love. The only thing I can add is that He is not done with me quite yet and I have looked forward to getting back into the swing of things.
In all honesty, the surgery was the easiest thing I went through though I have about a five-inch scar from just under my right ear to just below my chin! The chemo and radiation however really did a physical number on me and as to the radiation, I was only able to finish half of the 30 scheduled treatments as I lost a whopping 60 pounds due to not being able to hold anything down. It had really effected my taste buds as well as my appetite. Also, it has taken a while for the chemo to completely leave my body as I can still tell the results in my fingernails, though my hair is finally growing back!
Other than some nerve sensations in my neck, which the Doctor said would take a while to come back fully, I am doing fairly well and have been seeking the Lord for some new understanding and wisdom concerning His Word and especially in the light of all the world and our nation has been going through since March of 2020 with Covid and all the political upheaval involved with this type of flu.
I’ve been trying to get back to posting things of a Biblical nature yet I am only now getting back to being able to spend some time in reading the blogs and writings of my fellow Brothers and Sisters, so please be patient with me in that regard. As so many of you know, I truly love to encourage others and so am apt to comment many times on what I read. So don’t be surprised if you start seeing me comment again.
However, I am still recuperating a bit and so tire somewhat easy still and thus I don’t spend as much time in the day reading like I did. But that IS improving!
In closing, I truly thank you all who were concerned for Sue and I and spent some of your precious time praying for my health and her well-being. We truly do appreciate your love in that regard and the Lord’s mercy and grace!
So all that’s left to say for right now is thank you from a heart filled with God’s love AND God bless you all so abundantly!
