You Bring Your Own Punishment

Jeremiah has been called to warn the people of Israel. When you read Jeremiah, if you substitute the United States for Israel, you will realize that the Book of Jeremiah is not just historical, but extremely and divinely prophetic. Jeremiah, except for certain verses is rarely taught on today and yet, with the state of the United States as a Nation, we NEED, we MUST take the words of Jeremiah to heart!

Allegiances with other countries such as China and Russia have not blessed the U.S. other than maybe in a few economic areas. Certainly not in spiritual areas and definitely NOT in ways that are better overall for all of Americans. We have corrupt leaders that have benefitted from their associations while behind the scenes it seems like our Nation, that once had values and principles based on foundational Biblical principles have become just like, if not worse, than some of these other nations we have aligned with. AND, as we are seeing today, when it comes down to help where it really counts, honesty and truth in the face of medical situations, no matter the seriousness of this flu virus, these so-called allies can’t be trusted.

Israel of old suffered the same thing and God used His faithful Prophet Jeremiah to relay the truth of their situation. Today our Heavenly Father is still using those faithful behind their pulpits and those who are servants of His Word(s) to warn of the exact same thing. Like a television documentary might start out, “the names have been changed” but the facts and the situations resulting from sinful human nature most certainly have not changed!

What we are experiencing right now in our Nation with the outright fear and panic over a FLU virus, is us falling into our own punishment because of the abundant guilt the enemy uses on those who refuse to turn away from their lifestyles of sin. Remember though, we may suffer together as a Nation for the Bible says it rains and shines on the just and the unjust, but God has promised to protect HIS children from wrath! America needs to wake up, sadly I fear as I pray, that it is too late for us as a Nation.

  1. I’ve been reading through the Old Testament, and was recently in Jeremiah. (Stay tuned, folks, it gets worse. The next book is Lamentations, one of the grimmest books in the Bible.)
” … the Bible says it rains and shines on the just and the unjust, but God has promised to protect HIS children from wrath!” Good point. As Israel fell to Babylon, Jeremiah suffered along with the ungodly, so it’s doubtful he got any satisfaction from saying “I told you so.” Still, no matter what we (believers) may suffer, you’re right, we will not experience GOD’S WRATH. Jesus took that for us on the Cross, and that’s something we can rejoice in, no matter what happens.
(For those who DON’T believe, I have nothing to offer, other than the plea to come to Him NOW, before it’s too late.)

    • Amen and AMEN! What is sobering for me is that even before this flu virus (yes, serious) the Lord impressed me to start posting some things from Jeremiah in answer to some of the political stuff. Yet true to His nature, He doesn’t leave His children in the dark.
I finished Lamentations and Ezekiel and I’m sorry, God’s Word is as real today for our situations as it was back then for His Israelite children. It certainly has caused my prayer life to change and become more focused in other areas for sure!! If ever we need to demonstrate love, God’s love, it is most definitely now!
