The Lord Makes His Case

Jeremiah has been called to warn the people of Israel. When you read Jeremiah, if you substitute the United States for Israel, you will realize that the Book of Jeremiah is not just historical, but extremely and divinely prophetic. Jeremiah, except for certain verses is rarely taught on today and yet, with the state of the United States as a Nation, we NEED, we MUST take the words of Jeremiah to heart!

How sad it is that we never seem to learn from history and that human nature doesn’t seem to change for the better even in the slightest. My wife and I used to watch the Star Trek shows a lot in the past and one thing always got to me a bit; though the civilizations were supposed to be advanced and earth had done away with want and such things, human nature never seemed to change. Well here we are over 200 plus years later in our Nations history and we are repeating what past failed nations have done AND we are rebelling at the very God that blessed us in the beginning of our Nation and country! Just like the children of Israel of old, we thumb our noses at God and because of our plenty and prosperity tell Him that He isn’t needed anymore, we can take it from here.

We have set up modern-day idols in our hearts to replace Him. Sunday sports of every kind and nature now occupy our minds as we sit at home in our padded comfortable “pews” cheering on the next big celebrity who is going to tell us how to think and live. When that is over and we need a little motivation we turn to the celebrity “preachers and prophets” who will build up our esteem and soothe our conscious while we try to go out and shore up our financial portfolios at the expense of the “little dog” in this dog-eat-dog world. But these “preachers and prophets” that speak “thus saith the Lord” fill that spiritual need we have to feel good about our good works and deeds.

All the while we wonder why the big controversy over a “woman’s reproductive rights” and her right to kill her unwanted, unborn child because after all, it is to protect her “health” and we continue to vote those into office who want to “stretch the envelope” to see just how far they can take it! Those who think otherwise are archaic and don’t have a clue as to how progressive and civilized life has become. Besides that, diversity is also the NEW blessing and the new norm. Alternate lifestyles for instance are just that, alternate loving lifestyles. What harm if they are a little different? And instead of “preachers and prophets” warning that “God’s Words do not change and God’s Character does not change,” they lull the blinded and ignorant into a sense of false safety that is leading them into an eternal blackness that will never end! All because God loves everyone, so He must love what they do!! Lies from the pits of hell!

Yet, just like He did through Jeremiah and other Prophets who warned God’s children they were straying and being rebellious, He was making His case against them and for JUDGEMENT! God’s Word hasn’t changed, judgement came, more than once. His Character hasn’t changed in all these hundreds and hundreds of years, what makes modern Nations think His judgement isn’t already on our doorstep?

As God’s children, we need to pray for revival like never before. We need to pray for souls reborn and saved and those sitting on the fence to have a fresh anointing. The nations, not just ours, is on the threshold of judgement and ONLY God’s righteous and faithful will survive the coming storms.
