Jeremiah has been called to warn the people of Israel. When you read Jeremiah, if you substitute the United States for Israel, you will realize that the Book of Jeremiah is not just historical, but extremely and divinely prophetic. Jeremiah, except for certain verses is rarely taught on today and yet, with the state of the United States as a Nation, we NEED, we MUST take the words of Jeremiah to heart!
The Lord has compelled Jeremiah to speak to the wayward children of Israel again as He is apt to do with all of His children who might start to wander away. The Lord is reminding His children how in love with the Lord they were in the beginning comparing that love to newlyweds, willing to go where ever the Lord was leading. Today with the situations that happen to married couples and the philosophy of, “We just fell out of love,” being so common and so accepted as the norm, the Lord Almighty is reminding His children that His love is jealous for His children and when they’re threatened or even came to harm, He would intercede on their behalf.
Here in the U.S. just like we have seen in Israel, the Lord has protected us as a nation for a very long time, but I would venture to say, just like He told Jeremiah to speak up, He is preparing those who are His servants to speak up now and to remind the Nation, you have wandered from the love of your youth, the One who always protected you! Is He, the Lord Almighty saying again to THIS Nation, “I, the Lord, have spoken?” And if so, is this Nation listening?
