I’ve loved Philippians most of my life. A while back I memorized it, and I quote it in my prayers frequently. But today I learned something about the Philippian church that I had never realized before. In a message on Acts it was pointed out that the first members of the Church at Philippi were a business woman, Lydia (Acts 16:14), a slave girl (presumably -16:16-18) and a Gentile jailer (16:34). This must have flown in the face of self-righteous Jews who prayed every day: “God, I thank You that I am not a Gentile, a slave, or a woman.” 😉

Amen! Many denominations tend to misrepresent Paul’s writings on women, when in truth it was women who had such a major hand in getting the early church established! We need to remember that the Bible is NOT just bits and pieces we can pick and choose on a whim, but a COMPLETE counsel on God’s Character, Nature and Attributes and how we are to esteem one another with that knowledge!! God bless Sis!!
