No Fear In Death

This has been circulating Social Media for a while. I want to thank Sister Bette Cox for submitting it! Please visit her site for inspiration, exhortation and encouragement. Just click on Esther’s Petition to go there in a separate window.

A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, “Doctor, I’m afraid to die. Can you tell me what lies on the other side?”

Very quietly, the doctor replied, “I don’t know …..”

“You don’t know? You’re a Christian man and you don’t know what’s on the other side?” the man asked incredulously.

The doctor was holding the handle of the door, on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining and as he opened the door, a small dog sprang into the room and leaped upon the doctor with an eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said, “Did you notice my dog? He’s never been in this room before. He had no idea what was on this side of the door. He knew nothing except that I, his master was in here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of life where death faces us, but I do know one thing ….. I know my Master is there and that is enough for me!”

1 Corinthians 15:54-55, So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”
